Same thing. Mao adapted Marxism-Leninism to the conditions of China, and it became known as Marxism- Leninism- Mao Zedong Thought. He claimed his theory to be the true progress of Marxism-Leninism.

It was the Communist Party of Peru that relabelled it as Marxism-Leninism-Maoism.

If we just say Maoism, it could apply to 2 things:

Either the theoretical principle I just said above, or the practical way that Mao lead China.

Maoism refers to the teachings/ideas of mao, as well as the ongoing historical movement of people using those ideas to make revolution. Its a development of marxism-leninism so the full term is marxism-leninism-maoism, they can usualy be used interchangably, like leninism and marxism-leninism. (Though often the word maoism or maoist is used on its own to distinguish it from other MLs, as in the sentence "marxist-leninists dont tend to lead revolutions anymore, except for the maoists lol theyre awesome")

Leninism and Marxist Leninism are wholly different things, they only use Lenin's name to seem legitimately in the same ideologic camp as Lenin and other revolutionaries, when they stand for actually opposite goals. i'm posting this here not to start a flame war, but to point out to any new reader that Zenga's assessment of Leninism and Marxist Leninism being used interchangably is incorrect.

Are you talking about Trotskyists and Stalinists both claiming to be the true Leninism?
