This is worse than capitalism, its descending into corporatism.

Americas metamorphosis to fascism is complete.

.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................. Fuck you capitalists, fuck you. I've seen this coming from a mile away, it starts with prisons, then next it will be firefighters (again, they used to be for profit) and then our police. Then welcome to the corporate states of america.

Worst idea, or most ingenious evil plot? This sort of thing must give crypto-confederates the warm and fuzzies, what with the over-representation of blacks in prison. :(

According to some historians, the modern capitalist system has its origin in the "crisis of the fourteenth century," a conflict between the land-owning aristocracy and the agricultural producers,

Slavery is new to Capitalism??

All jokes aside, this is messed up shit. Forced labour in exchange for being locked in a cell 24/7, sounds like a fair deal...

And you wonder how california is going bankrupt, in part due to the prison system, despite all of these "for profit prisons." Might as well criticize Amtrak for being "for profit passenger transit."

Amtraj is not for profit.

For profit prisons are funded by the state, meaning the tax payers are paying the profit and overhead.

Not only that but this exhasberates unemployment.
