dutch should get an honorary mention for its unprecedented use of deadly diseases.
"tering tyfus kankerhond" (tuberculosis typhoid cancerdog) is considered an almost friendly greeting here

There's no one quite so angry as an angry Glaswegian. But I'm told that the Italian language has the best insults.

For screaming though... I would say German.

I'll need some of the Eastern European RLers to back me up on this one, but at the risk of sounding like a Soviet fetishist it's gotta be Russian. From what I understand, almost all the Eastern European countries don't even bother cursing in their own languages because the Russian curse words are so much better, lol.

I voted English. English and German obscenities are largely the same.

Hungarian.
All I know of that language are curse words, and they are brilliant. Every single one of them involves a combination of words:
Jesus
mother
pussy
horse
fuck
ass
blood
Make your own combination.
And it's hilarious. I love cursing in Hungarian.

I would go with German or Russian, but today while I was out with a friend, someone thought when I said "Trabajo" (Work in Spanish), I was saying a swear word.

Esperanto. It's the internationalist way.
But German. Definitely. I'd sound angry too if I had all that phlegm up in my throat all the time.

And Chinese for the lulz.

Russian and Spanish are my picks...but English is very underrated I think, there are some truly excellent combinations in my native tongue. Plus English has a few distinct styles of cursing.

I'd imagine being screamed down at by an angry Japanese person would strip you of your soul and your honour.
And it would probably be accompanied by crazy background fx.

I only really know English swear words, although I'm trying to avoid swearing in English at the moment so my toddler doesn't pick it up. I had a go at learning some Kingon swear words to try and stop swearing and I have to say, they're pretty satisfying, although the English ones just come too naturally. I can swear a little in French and German too. I think the English are a bit unimaginative when it comes to swearing at people. I usually just shout a chain of random words out, but "fuck" is pretty much always there.

Well, that's actually a really bad idea unless they actually apply to the situation, otherwise it's taking away the meaning of the word and dumbing it down. It'd be like Stalin calling his dog a Trotskyist when it defecates indoors, or American capitalists calling politicians they don't like Hitler(oh wait, they do that).

...Finnish isn't an option? You don't even have to know Finnish to be offended by their stuff... I take it from your statement that you don't know finnish. It's my first language and I wholeheartedly agree that it has some of the best insults; I always kind of thought that I mainly held that opinion because it happens to be my mother tongue, though, so it's interesting that people who don't even speak it agree.
On the other hand, if you knew the language, you'd understand how truly evil some of the insults actually are, and probably agree even more! ;) English isn't that bad either btw, it's hard to find such good phrases as 'eat shit and die you waste of oxygene' (on a web forum, 'you waste of bandwith' is even better) etc elsewhere.
Actually, perhaps the best insulters I've known -- incidentally they all are/were Revleft posters such as TAT, Comrade RAF, Jazzratt, NoXion etc -- all use english.

Not being a patriot i'd have to say portuguese because people will swear ther way out of things.
I think the most used words would be swear words.
Young people that make sentences without swearing 3 times or more are considered fancy.

After much research, I voted for Russian.
Russian is a language that can have a good sound for cursing AND has the necessary passion and inventiveness for a truly intense experience.
The German, English, Arabic and Spanish cussing I've heard doesn't even come close to just a couple YouTube videos of Russians cursing. :blushing:
We Americans need to improve our Cursing classes in primary school. Our American English could do so much better in this regard, but for lack of proper training we're reduced to a limited though reasonably passionate vocabulary.
German cursing just leaves me cold. They might as well be saying things like "Darn it to Heck!"
