Im getting Revolution tattooed on my left forearm very soon, in russian.
Google translate came up with революция as the translation. Ive checked on a few other places as well. Asked a friend who speaks Russian, but i want a 3rd opinion on the translation. I can never be too sure with somthing that will be on my arm for the rest of my life.

as an wise man once said, never get tattoos in languages you dont speak, even when they are spelled right it makes you look silly...

Reminds me of an anecdote i heard of a girl who managed to piss off a chinese tattoo artist who inadvertently ended up with ''I am a whore'' in chinese tattooed on her person.

david beckham has the name of his wife misspelled in sanskrit on his arm, quite silly, especially since thanks to queen victoria its an name that has an easy to find translation.

but then again, plenty of people seem to end up with misspelled tattoos in their own native language which is even more pathetic:

Because i am not very good with russian, just yet... I am taking extra precaution with this tattoo. Asking multiple people, using multiple resources, hell i even picked up a russian dictionary. lol

So i got революция tattooed on my left forearm. It came out great, what would be the best website to upload the picture to, so i can post it on this forum?

Photobucket and Imgur are both free and work well.

I don't know about getting it on your forearm, tattoos make getting work sometimes an issue depending on where you live and such.

Well, i live in Las Vegas.
if that means anything lol.

But here tattoos aren't really taboo when it comes to getting jobs.
Ive seen store clerks for a wide variety of stores with tattoos up their arms to their necks.

You may want to move at some point.

In the UK it only seems to be a barrier in up-scale areas of the service industry as long as you stay within the confines of "above the cuffs, below the collar". Most jobs that expect you to wear a short-sleeve shirt don't seem to care much about tattoos, and those that are likely to care will generally allow you to wear a long-sleeved shirt. (Honestly, the only exception I can think of outside the service industry is something in medicine or nursing, and even then I'm not actually sure.) Is the US more conservative in that regard?

Its his forearm.

Longsleeve shirt?

I have to put up with people's bullshit everyday when they get mad because we won't tattoo their hands or neck, putting a tattoo on your forearm is almost absolutely not going to effect your job prospects.

Im aware of tattoo artists not doing a young persons hands/knuckles, and that makes perfect sense. Fore arm, upper arm, ect are all very easy to cover. I mean it does get to about 115-120 (F) here on average but every building has (for the most part) good AC units.

o well this is ok I guess

Once toyed with the idea of a tattoo of the Hammer and Sickle on my chest (sort of Left-wing eqivilent of what Ed Norton had on 'American History X')
Now I fancy a Decepticon symbol on my upper arm and a barcode near my wrist.

Anywho, like the sound of yours

My first tattoo - kanji on the forearm. Didn't know I'd end up living in Japan. Doesn't make any sense at all. Summer is a bit embarrassing 'cause you can see people reading it and thinking "WTF?" I like all my other tats, but I'd totally get that one removed if could afford it.

Whats it mean? Did you think it meant something else at first?

I have a tiny little kanji on my wrist, it means "night train", I'm pretty sure it really just means "night", but in some old book of kanji we found in the back room one day it said it was "night train", and that was to cool to pass up.

Currently my favorite tattoo that I have is the upside down cross on my hand, sometimes I catch people just gawking at it in disbelief.
