During Batista's reign in Cuba, things were bad. The 26 of July Movement was not the only revolutionary movement. There was also the Directorio Revolucionario [Revolutionary Directorate] which was independent of M-26-7. The group was composed mostly of university students. On March 13th, 1957, the group, lead by Jose Antionio Echevarria (died in the attack), attacked the Presidential Palace and Radio Reloj (http://www.radioreloj.cu/english/index.php/who-we-are/39-history-of-radio-reloj/58-the-attack-to-radio-reloj) [Radio Clock] (a main news source at the time). The attack on the palace was against the government and the one against the news was to inform the population of the the attack on the palace. The attacks occurred almost simultaneously. The attack on the palace failed, but the people against the radio station made it to the microphone. Since it was on the radio, the attack was recorded and is played live every March 13th on Radio Reloj in Cuba. Below is the recording of that attack. The person on the mic is saying that justice has been taken to Batista. This was incorrect because Batista made it out alive, but it served as an example that fighting against the regime was possible.

I couldn't find a more complete version. The full version includes the firefight that could be heard inside the studio.
