Well isn't that nice of them.

How kind of capitalism in these hard times that it allows us to sell our organs for an education

Wow, I wonder how long till higher education costs an arm and a leg!

In all seriousness though, this is disgusting. People have a right to free education and access to information, this is only going to exacerbate economic and class inequality. Hopefully, we'll reach the breaking point soon.

Rabbitt Roff, what a toff!
In the future, maybe you will be able to tell someone's socioeconomic status from how many kidneys they still have.

Seriously though, this is a bad idea. Compulsory organ harvesting of the dead plus large-scale growing of "test tube organs" should solve all of the problems this pretends to.

And maybe unemployed ex-students should also be allowed to sell other parts of their bodies in order that they may survive until an entrepreneur, an employer, finds it fit to provide them with a job. And maybe the same people, but also unemployed workers' and employed workers, should consider subjecting themselves to experiments with new drugs, but alas that would probably necessitate a major offensive on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry aimed at government regulations. Hah, here's something for ya all, see that government is evil?

Seriously, this indicates just how twisted the ruling ideology can get, supported by the twisted reality of capitalist crisis and the ever deepening commodification in search of new markets.
Capital is within you. Just try to survive in your physical form and profits will flow.

On one hand, I do feel bad for the people who die awaiting a kidney transplant...

Maybe if I give up all of my limbs I get social security benefits too.

There used to be an old folk song that went:

"If life were a thing that money could buy,
Then the rich would lve,
And the poor would die."

This is why we need organ donation to be opt-out rather than opt-in, I think most people wouldn't mind their organs being used but they just can't be bothered to sign up for a donor card...

Comrade, I have a better suggestion: the unemployed ex-students and both employed and unemployed workers should beat the crap out of those who deign to imagine themselves the lords of the life but in reality are nothing but the parasites - the capitalists,... and maybe rip off some of their body parts too (see Louis XVI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_XVI_of_France)).

Thank you capitalism, for allowing me the gracious opportunity to sell an organ in order to better myself intellectually. I mean, really, I only needed one of those kidneys anyways.

This has potential, but selling my spare kidney isn't appealing to me. Never know when you may need a new one. If I'm going to be paid to sell a part of me, why can't I sell the government something renewable? How about a monthly payment from the government for my sperm in order to help with rent? Or, maybe here in America, Obama could announce a "Shit for Education" plan. I would sell my feces to the government, which could then be used for eco friendly fertilizer.
