View Full Version : Questions on true Marxism

Well I'm new to Marxism and have read the manifesto although I should read it again, wasn't really concentrating. Nevertheless, I am interested in knowing the more complicated aspects of it. Yes, I understand that it's a classless society with no exploitation, etc, but I'm a little confused about exactly how the economic system works. So everyone gets paid the same amount, right? Because if a doctor, lawyer, etc got paid more money he would then become higher class. If this is true then where is the incentive to go to college or universities and waste 4 years or so if you're going to get paid the same amount? How then would this marxist society develop scientifically? And lastly, how do family owned buisnesses work? or is there none?
A quote from RedStar2000
"In a real communist society, of course, there is no money, no commodity exchange, and hence no economic motive for prostitution."
As I understand it, RedStar seems to be knowledgable about communism and politics in general. So coming from him this statement would seem factual. Although this comment was not exactly on this topic and I'm not sure if he was refering to Marxism or just communism in general, but can he or someone please explain this more? Thanks in advance.

Wow, very interesting ideas, I hope more will read that article. I think you should write a book on your ideas of what a modern communist society could be. I finally understand that in communism there are no classes, but yet people can be more prosperous. The key is that they earned it, not at the expensive of others but from themselves. So there would be people with more possesions than others, but since there was no expoitation it is justified and self-earned. Seriously, you should publish your ideas so the masses can read them and be awaken.

I've told him that already, but to no avail. He is just too damn lazy. :redstar2000: That's why he now has a website, where he can put all of his better stuff into one place.

I know certain doctors, that actually became doctors to help people!!!!!!!!
They (during the 80s) went to guerilla camps and Nicaragua, putting there lives at risk, to work for the futhering of justice and revolution........
I spend alot of time campaigning for free, we should all take this as an example,

Redstar....I ask this with all due respect....how is it that so many people are capable of clinging to your nuts for dear life? I mean is there really that much room?
I mean I'm cool with you and all buy you'd think you were the second coming of Hegel by the way these guys follow you

What I notice is that the same person will enthusiastically agree with me in one thread and vehemently disagree with me in another.
I do not seek "followers"--I'm trying very hard to encourage people to "think like Marx". To use the tools of Marxism effectively will serve folks far better than just copying what I said.
But of course I'm just as accepting of flattery as anyone; I don't mind it a bit when people say nice things about me.
