Hello friends and comrades. I'm Mark V. I'm never sure as to what I should put in an introduction thread so I guess I'll follow the advice of the "Guide for Newcomers" thread.

There is no leftist scene to speak of where I live. Heck, there is barely a "Liberal" scene where I live. I reside in a part of California that the Republicans proposed to have separate from the rest of California. So I might as well be living in Arizona.

I'm not sure as to what branch of leftism I subscribe to. I've read and agreed with statements from self described Anarchists, Left-Communists, and Orthodox Marxists. I disagree with the idea of "vanguard parties". Hopefully that gives you an idea of my politics.

I became an Anti-Capitalist leftist in my Sophmore year of High School. Though I did not know it at the time, my family tended to move from the "Lower Class" into well to do "Middle Class" workers (and vice versa) every five years or so. When this change happened again just before the 2008 financial crisis I became mad that I had poorer quality food and such. So I abandoned my proudly proclaimed "Centrist" position in politics and became more open to other types of politics. I ended up researching Libertarianism, Social Democracy and others until I settle on Radical Left anti-Capitalism, because it made the most sense to me.

Anyways, I'm excited on be on RevLeft.

Welcome to the forum :)

What do you think is the single best way to bring about revolution?

I haven't read as much as I would like to, but I think I have a vague answer to your question. It is hard to pick out one single point but I suppose the single best way to bring about revolution is to raise awareness about how Capitalism is screwing over 99% of the people living on earth. Particularly the fact that no matter how much wealth Capitalism generates, most of it always goes to the wrong people. If people start realizing this then we'll start going somewhere.

I hope this sounds more intelligent to you than it does to me. That was a lot harder for me to answer than it should have.
