Communist liberalism?

I'll report back once I've read some of his stuff. But that name doesn't fill me with hope.

It does sound strange. The author seems to have a Russian name so I wonder if it's not a bad translation perhaps? Not sure... I wish Popov was still posting so he could have a look.

I read the above article and have come away with a pretty lowly opinion of this theory. For most of it he just talked bs about how the ideals of capitalism and communism must be united (often trashing all communists as utopians - not entirely wrongly mind), but never went so far as to give any real clues how.

At one point he said something about Plato being a hero of communism or something? And both he and Jesus being practical whilst Marx, Lenin etc were basically utopians? I did not understand what he was trying to say there.

He makes some decent criticisms of the Left andd our failure to evolve since about 1920. But he doesn't really offer any new ideas to rectify the situation, even if he thinks he does.

I have issues with some of his terminology and sources. I think the guy means well but.... and that's the big but...

This guy sounds like 50x the utopian idealist than Marx was. I have yet to see one thing of substance in the whole essay; it contains nothing more than vague illusions to "creating a political community of equals (HOW?)" and "new communities of the higher perspective of the 21st century."
Sounds like woo-woo to me. This guy seems like the type of person who never educated themselves because they are too good for it and people should be quoting them.

Well to be fair, it's just one guy on his own with a web-journal trying to put something new and positive out there. I have read most of the articles on the site, not just the one linked and there are some ideas and points but it seems a bit too disorganised and jumps around a lot- like a lot of stuff on the web!
