employee owned firms/businesses/corporations

Since we have some employee owned firms/businesses/corporations here in the Capitalist Western Nations and small businesses do we need Socialism I would say the answer is yes but I have had some people tell me that the workers/working class can already own the means of production under Capitalism or does this not matter since they go out of business because they must compete with big or large corporations ?

True socialism has never been tried at the national level anywhere in the world, although some employee-owned firms have successfully employed it in the West.

I think its these cooperatives are good examples of socialism on a micro scale within capitalism, and these cooperatives have been successfull.

Of coarse we need socialism overall and to undo the capitalist system, because ultimately capitalism is system that creates class society and economic tyranny and implodes.
