Raised Fist?

Ok, so I know the raised fist is used as a leftist symbol sometimes, but I have some questions: Does the color matter? If I'm designing a leftist-type thing that involves a raised fist, and I make the fist white for aesthetic/design purposes, is that OK or do white supremacists own the white raised fist?

I would personally stick with a black or red fist. The symbolism might get confusing if you use a white fist. Maybe you could change other elements of the design for aesthetic purposes? The white fist is pretty strongly associated with white supremacy and their whole obsession with "resisting the ZOG machine".

depends on the background colour. if its cause youre using a black background, you might get away with it as long as it incorporates some other leftist iconography or slogans.

As a rule of thumb, white on black does tend to be the domain of the right. look at how they bastardised the celtic cross with the 'white pride worldwide' symbol.

Not to mention the Swastika, because of one man it went from being a little-known Hindu peace sign to being the most taboo symbol in the world, a symbol of mass murder and pure evil.

I ended up with a red fist on a red and black star background. I think it turned out ok =] Would've looked ok white too. Lol.

yeah the white fist is the white supremecists thing, and i'm fairly sure the black fist is copy right of the black panthers, if not it's still used by the ICUPK nutcases. Stick with red, or better yet try blue. I like blue.
