Marxism vs. Communism

excuse my ignorance comrades but im under the impression that they are one and the same. along with socialism i see socialism and the governing form which will lead to the final stage which is communism. but my main question is what the hell is the difference between marxism and communism, thanks. peace

marxism- theories of philosofer Karl Marx

Comunism- Form of goverment born from several currents of thought, among them Marx but not only Marx. Most people comonly and wrongly indentify a single party system and a repressive undemocratic police state as the only form of comunism. When in fact the above is but an preverted atempt to implement but one interpretation of marxism in conjunction with other theories like leninism
