Bill Nye getting asked about whether volcanoes on the moon caused global warming.

I bet he wanted to choke the reporter with his bowtie after that question about global warming. The power of private media propaganda in the US would be funny if its negative impacts were not so tangible and painful to the world.

Now you see, if the US had a decent education sytem than that question would not have even been asked, because any textbook on planetary science would have told them that the Lunar interior is too cold to support vulcanism in the recent geological past.

facepalm indeed

Who the hell writes the Fox news material?
The extent at which they go underestimating public intellect is awe inspiring.

Not to mention that the ability to retain heat is related to the composition of gases in the atmosphere. Kind of requires actually having an atmosphere.

It's stunning that anyone out of elementary school would ask such a question.

I actually don't think they care if it is absurd (I think some of them even realise this, but feats of mental gymnastics prevents them from recognising it as fact), they'll latch onto any sort of excuse like this. If it's not the moon, it's nebulous gases from Neptune somehow teleporting to earth via some interplanetary invisible channel, whatever it is, their message will remain the same: nothing we can do, nothing we want to do, etc.

The look on Bill's face when the reporter asked that...

Why in all of the earth are they the ones who get to tell us the news? I can't understand for the life of me how the people on Fox News are still able to report.

I just want to hang my head and cry.
