What are your thoughts of these organizations? Greenpeace no doubt has done a lot in its many years but is committed to a strictly non violent approach and is willing to compromise. It is now a large global entity, seemingly selling out its grassroots beginning. Is this so? The Sea Shepherd Society was started by a radical leftist, Paul Watson, and uses a more direct action approach. Though this gets them labelled as "terrorists" by many. Then there is the Animal Liberation Front which has no formal group and is made up of anyone willing to use direct action against animal abusers. All and all, what do you think about these environmental groups and their views/tactics?

Fuck them. All of them. Reactionary expression of petit-bourgeoisie individualism and pointless single-issue struggles, bordering on apolitical apart from their favourite special issues.
I didn't know the fat pig (with apologise to the pigs) Watson was a leftist at any point, or are you just saying that as some sort of automatic recognition because of his activism, even though it is not socialist in any way? I seem to remember him being quite cosy with some primitivist ideas of de-population and similar reactionary concepts.

I watched a documentary on Crimethinc and it interviewed the leader of the Sea Shepards and he admitted that various Greenpeace presidents in different countries now work for the corporations that they fought against. He listed examples like former Greenpeace norway president now works for the whaling industry, former greenpeace australia president works for the oil industry (might not be getting the country/industry combination correct, watched it a while ago.)

A book I read recently claimed Watson was a supporter of Mao and his views when he was younger but yes he does seem to have a primitivist mindset.
