Britain's latest quarterly growth figure has just come in and its really rather bad at 0.2%.

The last 3 figures have been: -0.5%, 0.5% and now 0.2%.

This means the economy is really not growing at all whilst inflation remains very high. The end result is a significant squeeze on people's incomes.

Seriously, how can your average citizen even afford to live in the UK? The place is an island prison of exploitation and oppression, wherein the engines of the machine are oiled purely by the sweat of the proletariat. All you do is this shithole is slave away and watch your money go to such fabulous causes as; illegal conflicts and imperialism in the Middle East, the 'Royal' family, the bloated and wasteful public sector, bankers' outrageous bonuses, and MPs' unbelievable expenses. And that's if you are lucky enough to be 'blessed' with a job, working for some exploitative fat cat douche, or some faceless and completely impersonal corporation that tries every trick in the book to screw you.

Seriously. I sometimes visit the predominantly White, bourgeoisie nieghbourhoods in my area, and the people are repulsive. They are arrogant, they are haughty, they drive incredibly wasteful and expensive gaz-guzzlers, they live in nice, sizeable detached properties with neatly trimmed lawns, they have garden parties all the time, they spend insane amounts on champagne, caviar, and whatever else... they really couldn't care less.

I live on the dole :)

It's a nice life, you have no worries whatsoever (kinda like living in a communist/socialist society), especially when you know that everything's being paid for by the evil government :D

And lol, one MP got an expense for building a moat around his castle lol, and another got an expense for buying a 300 year old furry toilet seat

I know, it's a joke.

How much is the dole worth nowadays?

So, dou you think that there should be cuts in the "bloated and wasteful" public sector? Do you think that such a measure would ensure a better, more just fucntioning of the system, or do you consider your own interests in conflict with those of the "parasitical" public sector workers?

I'm not putting the blame on the workers (as tempting as it might be :D). It is the bureaucracy, systems and protocols that local councils and public sector bodies have to follow that is the problem. These processes waste taxpayers' money.

Is that for a single person?

Maybe I should just give up my job...

I'm sure the Tories will find some excuse. Blame it on the weather like they did in January. Excess leaves on Britains railways. Excess Millibands in the Labour party.

If I lived where I used to live, in the country, I'd be working my ass off just to stay alive. Where I used to live there was next to no public transport, no buses and they'd torn up the Railway in the 70's. Currently Fuel is very expensive and I thank fuck I live in a city and only have to drive a few times a month otherwise I would be broke.
Scotland isn't so bad if you're a poor student, you get some sizable loans which is essentially all I'm living off at the moment. I'm pretty frugal so I can make it last a long time... I know people who just go out and buy loads of drink, games, clothes with their loans then despite their loans have to get a job at MacDonalds on top of Uni. That's that sort of shit i'd rather avoid.

You'd have to be more clear than this if you wish to get your message across.
For instance, what is the public sector bureaucracy (presumably of lower levels) but the workers employed in such positions?
Also, what are and how do these wasteful systems and protocols function, and how exactly are they wasteful of tex funds?

I'm asking since you'vee shown an attitude conducible to dividing the working class, and your comment on the temptation of blaming one section of it just reinforces my suspicion that you have swallowed bourgeois ideological shit.

Indeed. I live in a suburban area. I've got my A2's, but I decided against Uni for now, as I wasn't that fond of school, I wasn't sure which course to go for, and, with the labour market as it is, if you aren't studying something worthwhile and useful, it is just dead money, in my opinion.

At the moment, i've only got some token part-time work at a supermarket, and it isn't exactly enjoyable, as I explained in my introduction (which I can't link to yet, apparently. It was entitled 'How's it, comrades?' if you want to have a read).

My care insurance alone would go around £1500 annually, which is why i'm on my folks third-party at the moment. I couldn't afford to run a car wholesale. Everything is so damn expensive here.

You'd understand what I meant if you lived here. I've had some work experience of HMCS (Her Majesty's Courts Service), and cases would routinely be scrapped at the last minute due to some token contact between the Jury and the Defendant (such as a chance meeting at a bus stop of one of the jurors). People would not show up for hearings due to poorly-planned time management or problems organising, et cetera. All costing the taxpayer a lot of money.

Some of the staff were also told to order senselessly expensive stationery supplies, all on the taxpayers' dime, while effectively the same stuff could be bought for a third of the price.

I never blamed the workers themselves for it... they just do as they are told.
