Hey people, was just looking for somewhere to vent, discuss, collaborate, inform and be informed, inspire and be inspired, and get some projects rolling with like-minded people. Hope I've found the right place!
However, was kinda taken aback by the rules section when registering. I am not advocating far-right extremism or anything like that but there are some pretty aggressive statements towards people of differing view-points that, in my mind, is just not what I would expect from a forum claiming to be what this forum appears to be claiming to be.
Anyway, thought I'd give it a chance anyway, so....what's up?

Welcome. Yes we have a lot of rules, but they only exist to increase the quality of discussion for "revolutionary leftists". It is a semi-exclusive community in that respect, but frankly our movement needs a safe space to not get trolled in order to have needed discussions.

Closer to a Classic Red board here from what I can tell, but then I'm new too. Centrist leftists might not be as comfortable as Marxists would be. And no fascists is good not only here, but in the world at large as far as I'm concerned.:)

It's not really a case of being comfortable. As far as I'm concerned, being uncomfortable in discussion improves dialogue and expands learning and thought. The point I was making was the "think how we think or fuck off" element of the "rules of registration" felt a bit like there's a kind of thought-police lurking to shut you up if you're to stray too far from a central opinion. Which feels fascist itself.
Anywho...theredson, yea I imagine you get your fair share of dickheads crawling around so probably isn't a bad idea.
Nice to meet you all though.

Welcome. I wouldn't be too afraid of all the rules. Most of the time, they're reasonable (even though I silently disagree with a few.) Just watch what you say, especially with words that could be considered offensive to anyone, and you should be fine :)
