I think Greenwald's piece on this is the best, in that it's not that he was simply calling for Dems to be "more liberal" but rather he was challenging the establishment in unapproved ways.

Which is what I think happened to Cenk too, it wasn't simply that he attacked Dems telling them to be more lib. Although I never watched his show on MSNBC so I wouldn't actually know but that's just my guess.

I think it's important to point out that he is still solidly in the camp of the bourgeois Democrats. I just posted this to show what point they've reached, where even criticism from within their own fold needs to be toned down... or stomped out.

Well I'm not sure Comcast is really a "Dem" organization. But they are DEFINITELY big time capitalist.
I saw Cenk's show a few times and I think he was too passionate. That's also the reason they got rid of Olbermann. They don't mind centrist lefties if they're not passionate about it. With the big capitalists, passion is only supposed to be for the RW.

That means they're more than conscious of what they're doing, it's deliberate what they're doing.
