I've heard a lot about it, but never actually read it. You would recommend it then?

It reminds me of "Red Son", a comic book in which Superman crashes in Ukraine, rather than Kansas. Good read.

I would absolutely recommend it. One of the best graphic novels/comics/arrangement of small dots on papers I've read.
I've also read Red Son, and though that was enjoyable, I would say this one is better, as it delves into a lot more complexities than Red Son and has a grander feeling. Also, it is definitely leftist, unlike Red Son, which, despite being interesting, was very reactionary in its depiction of things.
Does anyone have this uploaded somewhere? It looks interesting.

I have as well, but I don't like how they turn the communist in the book, from good guy's to bad guys.

More degenerate Western trash praising boy-loving mujahideen animals. If I needed this shit, I would just watch a Ronald Reagan speech.
By all means, read it if you want more Western propaganda shoved down your throat about how Communists are Satanists.
The Red Star: Sword of Lies is the continuation of the comic series that brings readers back to the events as we left them in the previous Red Star Trade Paperback, 'Prison of Souls'. It also takes readers back into the time of the Great Revolution, revealing the downfall of the summoner Imbohl. Once a leader of the Revolution, Imbohl's embrace of evil is the origin of The Red Star saga. This run is currently on issue #3. Issue #3 premiered at Comicon International San Diego 2008

It doesn't praise the mujahideen, it portrays them as religious fanatics.
It's called a fantasy setting, I'm sorry if you can't handle it.

You wish, but this is not the case. First the person named Imbohl is use tobe the leader of the comunist nation from start to finish, and still leader after the fall of there version of communism. See how there was a time of de-Stalinism in the USSR, you fixd does not fit. It is ture that Imbohl did fight against the Imperial Guard like Lenin, and it is ture that Imbohl did leaded the war against ANP( a Nazi party), just like Stalin. But the Stalinist were no longer in power taht point in history.

Yes but the state portrayed in the books is most like the USSR under Stalin.

The state in the book is the USSR in general, form the very start to the very end. In fact that why they call it the URRS. Just like Imbohl is all communist leaders of the USSR in general, from Lenin to Stalin to the very last one. I don't think that Stalin saved the entire Red army by himself like Imbohl did in the book.

Well, that's what Stalin says he did
Imbohl does represent all of the rulers, but the one he represents at the time of the main plotline is Stalin. And the URRS doesn't exactly conform to the real one, it stays "communist" after it breaks up.

Reading from the "Red Star" book for role playing not it does not. THe URRS break up into a type of Russain federation with Imbohl out of power, much like today with the communist out of power. And Stalin himself point out that it was because of Lenin that the Russian Revolution happend at all. When it comes to the military he point out that he "helped" not "saved" the enitre red amry, by himself.

a. Read the comics, he's technically still in power, and b. you've never seen "The Fall of Berlin," have you?
