View Full Version : What happened to Kuppo?

Seriously, what did he do to constitute a ban? Yeah, he was a troll, but he wasn't the Muzk type of troll, and most of his posts were quite humorous. He brought us joy and lulz, and looking back on his posts, I didn't see anything overtly offensive or counter-productive.

"I have a German Shephard named Karl Barx, a cat named Meow Tse-Tung, and a Donkey named Juche."

I don't really disagree with you, but this probably isn't the right board.

Well, considering how long it takes to get an adequate response in the "Why was this person banned" thread, I figured I'd ask here and go to the grassroots on why they think Kuppo was banned and what they think of it.

I f kuppo had known his ban was going to be discussed he would have wanted it to be in chit-chat :crying:

It's a fitting tribute.....sniffle :crying:.........sniffle :crying:

I'm amazed the amount of asinine crap I've posted over six years has never once got me a ban.

Goddammit....

He didn't do anything to justify an all out ban. There are way more users on here that take trolling and invalid arguments to an extreme level, and out of all of our users, Kuppo was the one that got banned? I fail to see how the only rational way to confront the occassional humorous and non-political statement is to never allow that person to post here ever again.

occassional humorous and non-political statement

More like "constant off-topic/troll posts". In fact, I was amazed why Kuppo was still going when people get banned for saying that "Gaddafi gets anally raped by [someone]". I've never seen a productive post from him, and few of his posts were funny either. If we let every troll have free reign on the forums, we'll have a new 4chan here.

If anyone, it's Bailey who we should have back here - at least he kept his troll posts to Chit-Chat (and yes, he was funnier too).

I've said this before, but I'd barely say that his posts were trolling at all, by all but the loosest definitions of the term, despite his own constant insistence otherwise. I guess I haven't read all his posts, but from what I saw, it was mostly just on-topic jokes that wouldn't have been risqué by the 1960's at the latest. I mean, "Party for Silliness and Lollygagging"? I never saw him approaching anything resembling antagonistic.

I have a quick question, are regular members allowed to discuss policies in the members forum? Not necessarily with moderators or whatnot, although they can participate if they want, but with just other regular members? because a lot of these threads keep getting closed.

I think it depends. There are some things I think we just aren't allowed to discuss. A lot of these threads are closed due to the fact the topic has been beaten to death or because the thread turns into attacks on the admins.

I didn't particularly find Kuppo or Bailey funny, but not sure they did anything deserving of a ban. Be sure to get your thoughts in before the Boss spots this, she'll probably lock it. Or maybe that only happens in the CU, I dunno. But woe betide anyone in the CU who wants to start a discussion on board policy or anything remotely interesting and worth debating.

The mods got rid of the commie club a long time ago.

Yes, shame on us. We are just uneducated proles incapable of serious political discussion...or voting on board material.

He goes by Edelweiss now. Doesn't really matter anyways.
