Does anyone know of any good articles or books on how the internal economy of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (i.e. North Vietnam) was organized from 1954 onwards and especially during the main part of the Vietnam War, from 1965-75? To what extent did economic activity outside the state sector continue and how was industry in particular managed? More generally, how did the WPV theorize the role of the bourgeoisie in the revolution - did they argue along the same lines as the CPC that there was such a thing as a "progressive bourgeoisie" in the South that could be allied with during the war?
