so apparently south sudan has become the world's newest country (as far as i know). anyone have any info/news on it?

NPR had a pretty decent article on the nation's founding as well, I thought it really outlined the tenuous situation facing South Sudan as it attains its independence. It makes mention of the oil fields near the border with Sudan, the potential for this move to spark further conflict with Sudan, and the ethnic tensions within its borders.
