Dear U St

Can you quote any prominent Democrat saying he or she is "for income
equality"? It is true that most Democrats favor less extreme income
inequality than most Republicans. Capitalists associated with the Democratic
Party also tend to be more willing to pay taxes. That is because they have a
little more commonsense than their Republican fellow capitalists and
understand that taxes are necessary to keep the capitalist system running
smoothly. For example, if there is no money to repair crumbling bridges how
can capitalists transport their goods? But neither group of capitalists want
to give up their privileges and establish a society based on equality.

Sincerely

Stephen (for WSPUS/WSM)

Does anyone agree with this this will be my last thread and or post talking about the Democrats but Im trying to stop supporting the Democratic Party ?

That's pretty much the rub. Democrats want this class society to be a little more tolerable than Republicans. But neither even begins to challenge the stratification of society at its' fundamental levels.

Any party in the capitalist representative government is, materially speaking, representing the interests of the bourgeoisie (capitalist class/rich/upper class/owners of the means of production). This is why we go to war where working class people will die. This is why we enact economic policies which will hurt the working class, impede our ability to unionize, gut our social services, and further enrich the already rich.

The actions of world governments speak for themselves. We do not need to listen to rhetoric or what these politicians say, for in order to be a politician you are forced to compromise whatever goals you might have in order to retain office. Therefore the primary goal of all politicians is retaining office - not adequate or proper representation. Hence not only do their actions speak louder than words, but their words must be lies to some degree.

You can't look at parties as wanting this or that. Every party has constituents and a platform, pressure and bosses.

The Democrats have a historically progressive platform, a lot of their voting consituents are progressive Americans, so they have to speak progressive to get their vote, and many itmes, if those progressive americans lay the pressure, they have to ACT progressive (this is rare).

The republicans have a historically conservative, family values, pro-growth platform, the republicans try and pull everyone they can, be it religious people, zynophobic people, some poor people that are easily afriad, and buisiness types, they sometimes get pressure from churches and anti-immigrant lobby groups.

BOTH parties however, get most of their pressure, and are thus ultimately ruled by, Corporate America.

I agree the Democrats are just as bad as the Republicans.

You have some, Sanders, Al Frankin, Defazio, Kucinich, Sherrod Brown, and some others that are proper progressives. But its very few, even amung the progressive caucus you have some that are just corporate shills, that talk to talk, but when the walk comes they run to their corporate daddies.
