Okay RevLeft let's have some fun!

Let's debate services in a communist society, the human power necessary to create a working, stable commune, and theories of self-sufficiency.

If there is a question mark (?), that means that the idea is debatable and might require modification.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Population and Demographics:

- A commune should try to achieve at least 1000 members (?) (not including children), unless it's a farming commune that takes up a lot of land. This will allow the people of the commune to have access to basic needs and create a productive workers society. Eradication of villages is one step forward.

Education:

- 1 Teacher x Nº of subjects, for every 100 students (if each class has +- 15 students, then that means 3-4 classes for each teacher. If each lesson for each class has a duration of 1 - 1.5 hours, then that means 3 - 6 teaching hours a day).

Every commune should have at least 1 school of each type: elementary, middle school, high school and technical. If the population is large enough, then a University can be built.

Food and agriculture:

- A commune should seek to be self sufficient in basic foods such as vegetables, meat and cereals. Personal gardens should be encouraged. Special foods such as sugar or spices can be imported from communes specialized in these.

- At least 1 farm per commune. The infrastructure of the farm should allow for excess food to be produced, in case of an emergency (If a farm usually feeds 4000 people, it should be able to feed 6000 or more if conditions arise).

Health:

- At least 1 Medical Centre per commune per 10.000 people (?).

- At least 1 doctor x most common specializations per 300 people (?).

- A hospital can be built if the population is large enough.

Production and Professions:

- A commune should focus on one or more types of production depending on it's size. Small communes may favour agriculture (?) or other specific industries, whilst large communes may find it favourable to focus on multiple industries due to limits on resources and large amount of workers and skills.

(rm1917 (http://www.revleft.com/vb/member.php?u=30965))-The commune should have a group of people that lead each sector of production, education, health, etc.
This group of people should discuss every day, there should be a commune assembly once a week, and a mandatory popular assembly each month, sort of a commune congress where the group of people referred above are elected.

Arts:

(Needs ideas)

I will keep updating this thread as new ideas arise :star3: so keep posting

(antes de mais nada, para se perceber melhor, põe elementary, middle school e high school em vez de primary ou secondary que é menos usado)

5 classes is too much for 1 teacher, and classes should be of 15 students each, not being over 18 students in cases of necessity. 3 classes for each teacher max.

The commune should have a group of people that lead each sector of production, education, health, etc.

just a few ideas.
