View Full Version : Tobacco Appreciation Thread II: It's Bad For Ya, Ya Know
This thread, like the last tobacco appreciation thread, is about how cool smoking is, and for smokers to discuss brands, methods, etc. Non-smokers may leave a comment if they wish, assuming that this comment is praise heaped on smokers all over the world on their tremendous wisdom and good health.
With that said, something I've noticed lately - I'm sure most of you haven't tried this, but it seems that when trying not to get caught smoking, the nicotine hits much harder than usual. I'm thinking it may have to do with the fact that I'm smoking a lot quicker when there's a risk of getting caught, and that this is what's happening - anyone know if there's any truth or science to that?
Oh, and let's hear what you guys smoke. I usually smoke regular Camels, but lately I've been taking a liking to these guys:

They're a bit harsher in the taste, but that's only a plus for me. Anyone else tried 'em? What do you think?

I've never even seen those mysterious camels. I usually smoke

It's five bucks for a .65 oz pouch and it isn't nearly as bad as one would think considering the price.
Bali Shag is also amazing, but at 15 bucks a 1.31 oz pouch, not nearly inhaled as often by my lungs.
As far as prepackaged cigarettes go Non-filtered Luckies or Non-Filtered Camels. Unless I can't shell out 8 bucks for a pack, then like... Pall Malls or something. Oh yeah Pall Mall non-filtereds are pretty good two, but they cost like 7.30 a pack around here.

The first time i ever smoked a cigarette i got super disoriented than vomited my guts out, is that normal?

Yeah, Pall Malls are my go-to if I'm broke, too. Been smoking quite a few of them lately, to my chagrin... I mean, not that they're bad, but I dislike being broke.

If you're a total wimp with lungs like a 3-year-old girl then yes, it's perfectly normal.

I normally prefer to smoke regular Camels, although it's hard to find them where I live in the UK, so Marlboro Lights will be my back-up

I appreciate tobbaco so much.
~10 cigarettes a day
I have something to do with my hands when drinking my coffee
I spend ~ 5 euros a week
I stink head to toe
I pant and gasp after walking uphill for a minute
I can't sleep
FUck yeah, tobbacco! :(

That happens to some people. Not many over the age of 16 though.
It kind of a reminds of me a thread I saw on a tobacco image board where someone said they bought a pack of marlboro reds as their first pack and then smoked 4 in a row, threw up, then tried to take the rest of the pack back to get a refund because he though they were stale.

And with a price like that ideally I should only smoke serbian Lucky Strike.
Really regret not buying more when I was in belgrad.
For some reason I smoked camel while in greece.
Gauloise when I was in Brussels. Good stuff, hard to come by here though.
Usually though I smoke Prince, but right now my eceonomy is more at a Pall Mall level. I suppose it might be different elsewhere but in sweden Pall Mall are the cheap ciggarettes. Well, until I start buying smuggled Jin Ling and russian LM.

You don't have a nicotine tolerance. How much are you smoking each time? If it only takes one to make you throw up then maybe smoke half of one, and move up as you get used to it, and before you know it you'll be an addicted pack a day smoker like the rest of us. Also it might help to hang out with people who smoke a lot. My mom has smoked since before I was born and the first time I smoked a cigarette I didn't feel the least bit nauseous, nor did a friend of mine who's dad smoked. Of course I have another friend who wasn't regularly exposed to second hand smoke in his childhood and from what he's said he didn't have a problem with it either. Maybe some people are just lucky(unlucky?) and have an easier time handling the nicotine.

Go to your doctor and ask if you can get some help for your lungs so that you may enjoy the sweet sensation that is tobacco smoke.

Yeah, a pack costs about $1,5.
And those are one of the most expensive ones, and therefore bourgeois. :)
With a salary of only $300 a month such as mine, cigarettes, even at that price, are a wallet-breaker, trust me. But, hey, that's addiction for ya. I'll always have money to buy my cancer.

That's like a third of what they cost in sweden. Just out of curiousity what are the cheaper brands? I mean I might go to Serbia again.

Do you get a really intense buzz before you throw up? This might be nicotine poisoning, or overdose or whatever. I got it once when I was maybe fourteen or fifteen and I smoked a cigar like it was a joint. Not even a full one, just a few drags - I got high as fuck for maybe fifteen minutes then I got sick for about half an hour.

Sarajevo one, easy to notice by the white pack (because cigarrete of the same name that's made in Serbia is absolute crap). It costs about 70 cents, and it's wonderful, with a taste similar to Luckies. I'm used to LS, but when I'm out of money, I always smoke my Drina.

Old Holborn + Liquorice papers.
When I have money and fancy not rolling for myself I smoke Lucky Strikes, Malboro reds or Henri Winterman's Slims (panatella cigars). If I feel really rich (about once a year) I'll buy a nice cigar or two and smoke it/them over the course of an evening.
