To me it seems like a part of Commodity Fetishism could be simplified by saying. People put into the role of accumulators, therefor, they accumulate (at any cost), see role theory.

Are you referring to the sociology of social roles here?
I don't think that commodity fetishism relates to "people being put into the role of accumulators, therefore, they accumulate", although it's not very clear to me what were you driving at.
Can you explain a bit?
