ok i have kind-of decided when i turn 18, i want to move from the us, not denounce my citizenship, but move somewhere else. where is a place that might turn communist or socialist in the next 4 years, or has a communist majority, and that isn't a 3rd world country. i know french and english, and honestly wouldn't mind learning another Latin based language. also do you think i could get a dual citizenship?

I don't know, but maybe greece?

That is silly. If you want to travel go ahead but don't think that it is part of some communist agenda. Otherwise India is the only country that comes to my mind. Greece may be possible as susurrus said but your travels shouldn't be based on where 'the next revolution' is.

I made Hajj last year and had a blast. But, for you, I would probably say France, France is pretty good, I liked it.

You didn't mention it as an option in your OP, but I would recommend staying put. You may as well throw a dart at a world map blind-folded as regards a "place that might turn communist or socialist in the next 4 years" (why in the "next 4 years?"--what happens after this time period? It seems a little arbitrary). Frankly, I know this is the learning forum and all, this is a stupid idea. With the effort it takes to move to a place (that is hypothetically) in full-blown social turmoil you may as well stay home and 'build the revolution' or whatever you're in to. Everyone you talk about this to will dissuade you from the idea.

It's incredibly difficult to move to another country. Most places require you to find work if you're not a student and with the current situation in most unstable countries, that's going to make it really hard.

You could apply to a university in the UK. I'm not sure how expensive that would be though compared to universities in America.

Well, Greece is a pretty cool place, even without a revolution.

We will witness not communism unless we have global revolution, in which case you are most useful right where you are :)

You get out of high school in four years, which means you're maybe 14 or 15 right now. By then, you might be thinking differently as far as moving elsewhere. Besides, unless you have a parent from another country or come from a privileged background, getting citizenship in another country isn't the easiest thing to do, especially if you're moving to a so-called "developed" country, which seems to be what you want. Either way, I agree with most of the others here who say you should stay and fight where you are.

Quebec in Canada is left leaning, voting in the New Democratic Party in their last election. You know french already, so that is a plus. Quebec has a lot of culture and is beautiful apparently. But all in all, I would recommend sticking it out where you are and trying to spread the word there. Good luck either way.

You are young so it is a little early to be planning to run away already. I understand the feeling but it is selfish in that you are abandoning people you could possibly help.

Its expensive but travel is the best education you can get - why not try and get around and see for yourself if you can before making any big decisions?
