Sign Of Resignation of the Day: A disgruntled employee of a combination Taco Bell and KFC in Depew, New York, added a bit of emphasis to his resignation by posting his notice in block letters on the sign outside the restaurant.
According to a co-worker who spoke with News 4 (http://www.wivb.com/dpp/search/Copy_of_Employee-announces-they-quit-on-sign), the employee was upset with Adam, the shift manager, for making them work on Independence Day even after they had put in 22 days straight without time off.

That depends on the place and its policy. I have seen lots of them drink. Mostly those were places that had a bit of a bad rep....and the ones who you would likely get into trouble with were the doormen rather than other customers.

After the war a lot of the Italian and German carmakers basically owned bombed out factories. With the Marshall Plan a lot of investment was put into rebuilding the car industry and thus modern development- they had, in a way, to start from scratch but perhaps, in my opinion, benefitted from having the newer and more modern factories. Already in 1945 new Fiats were coming out of the factories- albeit that these were pre-war models such as the 500 "Topolino", 1100 and 6 cylinder 1500.

During the war Alfa had been obliged to produce machinery for the war effort, including aeroplane engines, for Macchi C.202 Folgore fighter. After the war and with all the bomb damage etc, Alfa Romeo took the route of producing marine and aviation engines and even household appliances until returning to the traditional auto industry with the Alfa 1900 (came out in 1950) and the Giulietta (came out in 1955).

Lancia on the other hand continued to produce cars throughout the war period but suffered different kinds of difficulties, one of Vincenzo Lancia's main collaborators Oscar Ravà had to escape to Spain in 1938 because of his Jewish background- where he had some susccess with motobikes with a Motorhispana founded in 1942.

Perhaps post-war investment, such as the Marshall Plan, and the need to start again with modern materials is what gave the ex-axis countries' carmakers an advantage?

More sweeping generalisations..... which feminists? Like the RAWA? Like the people campaigning against the abuses that go on in the world that are blatant discrimination based on sex/gender? Like the ones campaigning against female circumcison and forced arranged marriages?

Yeah, describing Italy as a prostitute's boot and saying that Southern Europeans were barbaric and violent was a real compliment.

There are many different annoying types of feminists. The ones who say "Feminism is the radical notion that women are equal." They are annoying, because in that case everyone is supposedly a feminist, and the term loses its meaning. The ones who convince themselves that women in America are "oppressed," when they clearly aren't. I could go on.

You don't need to be a "feminist" to care about forced circumcision (Although this is a bigger problem for males) or real actual discrimination such as that seen in the middle east.

When all variables are taken into account, a woman is paid the same amount as a man. I already discussed this 10 times with the people here, and provided the statistics. Go back and search through my old posts.

Also, if women actually did earn 25% less than men for doing the same work, there would be an incentive to hire more women until the wage gap closed. Also people in the west just aren't sexist enough to justify such a gap.

Personally, I have found the only people who really take feminism seriously are people who

a.) have a grudge against men whether or not they want to admit it.
b.) are those completely awkward dorky guys who obviously have never been laid or kissed a girl. They are usually thrown in the friend zone because they lack any kind of manliness.
c.) many academics teaching pointless subjects and others who live off the taxpayers dime.

Wow did you take this from some Texas talk radio show. Those damn academics, man-haters, and dorks. Academics just teach our kids communism, and smoke pot in the back of the university, man-haters are coming to take our guns away and make us all feminine, and of course those dorky guys should obviously know that women are mere sex objects and we shouldn't talk to them as friends unless it is for sex. http://www.nber.org/papers/w11240.pdf

When I initially discussed this topic, the paper could be viewed for free. Now it can't apparently. But the paper included a chart showing the income disparity between men and women, and then showed the disparity as more variables were taken into account.

We examine the extent to which non-discriminatory factors can explain observed wage gaps between racial and ethnic minorities and whites, and between women and men. In general we find that differences in productivity-related factors account for most of the between group wage differences in the year 2000. Determinants of wage gaps differ by group. Differences in schooling and in skills developed in the home and in school, as measured by test scores, are of central importance in explaining black/white and Hispanic/white wage gaps among both women and men. Immigrant assimilation is an additional factor for Asians and workers from Central and South America. The sources of the gender gap are quite different, however. Gender differences in schooling and cognitive skills as measured by the AFQT are quite small and explain little of the pay gap. Instead the gender gap largely stems from choices made by women and men concerning the amount of time and energy devoted to a career, as reflected in years of work experience, utilization of part-time work, and other workplace and job characteristics.

This paper also dispels many other myths about discrimination in the workforce.

http://www.econlib.org/library/Enc/Discrimination.html

One good bit from the paper

In a 2005 paper on wage differentials in American labor markets, June O’Neill and Dave O’Neill provide a vivid example of how omitted information can change conclusions about discrimination in wage studies. Simple comparisons of group wages for American men suggest that Japanese, Asian Indian, and Korean men earn 15 to 25 percent more than white non-Hispanic men. Black and American Indian men earn 25 percent less. A naïve interpretation of these earnings gaps would suggest that employers discriminate against whites and blacks and in favor of Asians. But using the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, an exceptionally detailed data set, the O’Neills show that Asian men in the United States have above-average educations. When education (http://www.econlib.org/library/Enc/Education.html) is taken into account, the earnings gap between Asians and whites vanishes, and the black/white wage gap shrinks substantially because whites, on average, have more education than blacks. Adding geographic location shrinks the black/white wage gap further because a much larger proportion of black men live in the South, and southern wage levels tend to be lower for everyone. Adding individual achievement test scores, which are a measure of educational quality, erases the black/white wage gap for college graduates. Agreeing with James Heckman (http://www.econlib.org/library/Enc/bios/Heckman.html), the O’Neills quote Heckman’s conclusion that “most of the disparity in earnings between blacks and whites in the labor market of the 1990s is due to differences in the skills they bring to the market, not to discrimination in the market” (O’Neill and O’Neill 2005, p. 33; Heckman 1998, p. 101).

Studies of woman’s wages that conclude women are discriminated against in U.S. labor markets are also misleading when they suffer from the bias caused by omitted information. The gap between male and female wages narrowed from about 40 percent in 1970 to about 24 percent in 2003. Claims that the 24 percent difference results from bigotry typically ignore the fact that as a group women are more likely to work part time, choose careers in lower-paying fields, work for government or a nonprofit, and have fewer years of labor market experience than men of the same age. These differences could all create a wage gap and may reflect choices made to accommodate family responsibilities. Researchers who adjust for standard factors such as education, experience, and line of work find no significant difference between the earnings of men and women who never married and never had a child.

Up Next: Immigrants taking our jobs... then our guns.

Well that was just my personal experience. Although it fits the stereotype which I do believe to be pretty accurate. Just like I believe the steriotype of libertarians to be accurate.

I think the problem regarding many academics nowadays is that they are overpaid for such an easy job which doesn't contribute to society. Many of them teach useless subjects. Although the situation hasn't gotten as bad as it has with law school professors. They have got to have the best job on the planet.

I don't think the problem with feminists is that they want to take our guns(that is mostly a problem stemming from upper class leftists who don't need guns in the neighborhoods they live in anyways), it is more of them just being annoying. The feminists are not really all that relevant, but that doesn't mean they can't be annoying.

Dorks should not "respect" women less, but they would do well to change their view of women.

Again its not about discrimination in employment, its about systematic discrimination. Ask yourself this, why do blacks bring less skills to the market than whites? Could it be because of a system which start discrimination at birth and seeks to maintain the power gap between the races. Tweak the data however it is that you want, your still going to end with significant differences between the races and sexes, and you'll see that racism/sexism go back a lot further than you would even consider.

http://www.nber.org/papers/w11240.pdf

When I initially discussed this topic, the paper could be viewed for free. Now it can't apparently. But the paper included a chart showing the income disparity between men and women, and then showed the disparity as more variables were taken into account.

This paper also dispels many other myths about discrimination in the workforce.

http://www.econlib.org/library/Enc/Discrimination.html

One good bit from the paper

Well I am not about to pay for an article. So I can't discuss this in detail.

Several factors which mean the conclusions they draw are complete horseshit.

1). when they talk about productivity related factors, this always, to no exception...includes pregnancy. What is more, the chance of a woman becomming pregnant. This means all women, pregnant or not, are deducted from their maximum salary on the basis of the chance that they become pregnant. Becommig pregnant is also invariably called a life choice a woman is solely responsible for....which is definately not always the case. As is shown in your second link, which basically uses the first one as part of their evidence structure, we can see how this works. Which brings me to point two.

2). Inherrently women are socially responsible for taking care of the children. One of the factors mentions women working part time more then men. Several things wrong with the eventual conclusion the article makes that this is

The choice of women
A factor which is non-arbitrary
A factor which disproves market biggotry

Men are often not awarded a chance to work part-time. Predominantly male dominated jobs are less inclined to allow for such deviances from the norm. If they do, being the predominant income provider, the family will loose substantial part of the income. Making this often an economic necessity...because for all its posturing the article proves one thing: 24% less income. I will expand on this further later on.

Women on the other hand are expected to work part time after they get children. Because they are seen as the predominant child provider. The years women work as part time somehow are deducted from her work experience. Which is strange...because part-time is work as well.
More so...women who do not work part time when they have children are offcourse always seen as non-dedicated and neglectfull....which subjectively will play through in promotion chances and jobperformance reviews/payrise occasions. For example, and I will use my own society, in the 60-70's women who got pregnant were NOT allowed to continue their jobs as nurses, teachers or workers in department stores. If a woman got married it was normal for her to give up her job...it was even expected. I know this was more or less the same in the US. This works in advance of some later remarks I will make

The market refuses to alieviate the basic societal needs by continuously refusing to adopt or provide childcare within company structures....alleging that this is somehow not their resonsibility and in the meantime pressuring women to work part time.

This is how it works in reality. Not in nice little statistics.

Now it gets interesting:

The number quoted: 24% less in 2003 by the Census Bureau. Was NOT based on a study between all across the board workers. It was specifically done by all fulltime workers. Eliminating part-time workers entirely from teh study and therefore part-time as a reason.

So its fucking disingenuous and totally disqualifies the entire article when they then set out to explain this difference by adding factors which were actively excluded in the first place!

3). Education is also some horseshit reason. In fact studies have shown under equally educated men and women wage gaps do continue. Which rules out education. As is shown by a 2009 study by the National Academy of Sciences (which incidentally also proved the existance of the arbitrary and subjective evaluation processes).

Education being a horseshit reason i the first place because it has been proven time and time again women with equal or higher education levels are placed in lower ranking functions across the board....again...often followed by reasoning along of risks of future behaviour....indicating pregnancy/part-time work.

4). Gender role bias....I could cite a number of pre 2000 and post 2000 studies which prove the fact that women, who perform equal or BETTER than their male counter parts are LESS promoted than poorly performing men....or their work is more critically looked at and they are met with more discrimination and anti-women attitudes than their counter parts who do NOT outperform men. This explains why women, who are not pregnant, carreer oriented and outperforming men, more often than not are NOT given a promotion. Something the two articles put off as: being life choices.

Well...there you have it. Basically you cite two studies one of which basis itself on the other....which simply ignore or use wrong information. Information which does not suit their outcome. They call that: omityted information. I call that misinformation and making up facts....especially since they make up facts to excplain a wage gap by inventing a reason which was explicitly left out of acquiring the numbers in the first place. :thumbup1:

All this leaves out the fact of education as a concept for women and the fact that up until recently women were specifically placed in so called gender appropriate roles. Women until recently were limited in the jobs they could get secretaries, teachers, nurses, departments store employees, cashregister employees, etc. Gender specific and, so called, appropriate jobs. It was unlikely women got a lot of education. It was simply not provided for them, or discouraged before those times. Only recently has a whole new range of possibilities opened up in education and advanced education....somethings which was worse for the working class since education a few decades ago was basically a very costly udertaking and women were NOT afforded scholarships as much as men.

So inherrently this whole situation was created and perpetuated by the jobmarket. Its a bit disingenuous to then argue that education and work experience are the predominant factors....which are supposedly outside the market??? Come on!!! BS!!

Somehow I was given an infraction for the post above. I forgot the left has their own definition of sexism.

I'm not sure what you want my reply to be. That there hasn't been any discrimination and there's something wrong with latino/black people for not overcoming like Asians? The difference is that in the United States most blacks have been oppressed since pre-colonial times (or would you argue that there was no racism here) and most latino people who immigrated came from working poor backgrounds with different opportunities than those available in the first world. This kind of discrimination continued and is still perpetuated today. While it is true that many Asians did come from working poor backgrounds, you also have to understand that in recent times many Asians came with elite education to the states and established a reasonably sized part of middle managers, professionals and so on. To my knowledge the percentage of Asians who came here with education from accredited universities and often better universities than those found in most other parts of the world was greater than that of other immigrants (typically in the more recent generations). This class of middle managers encouraged their children to get educated and thus placed a second generation of professionals and institutional discrimination became harder for the establishment and with this impetus many of the working poor Asians also encouraged their children to get educated as it became associated with the Asian culture and Asian values that they work hard and so on. The economic position of Asians in the United States is part of the reason that they can't be economically oppressed.

So basically you are saying that Asians make more due to their culture and values. I agree. There is no "establishment" trying to systematically keep the Asians down. If there was (which there isn't), they must not be very influential or powerful since Asians are still a small minority. Also I am not sure why AA laws would be in place if what you said was true.

I also agree that a persons background will most likely affect their future income. But that is true regardless of race.

Most likely, blacks make less than whites for the same reasons whites make less than Asians.

It's a client for your computer, which you use to buy and play computer games.

Sort of like Itunes for video games.

Just got back from 4 day camping trip at the beach. It was fun. There were this family with little kids next door, who were amusing because the kids produced amusing quotes like "Are you even speaking American?"

Also, I vandalized the bathrooms where someone had drawn a cross and written "GOD," I made the cross into a swastika and wrote ": the original fascist" next to "God" .... Would have pics but my phone was dead. (not trying to offend anyone religious, lol)

I used burnt charcoal sticks to write random stuff like "property is theft" on the firepits too. Yeah. I had fun.

And I read a review of it that compares Harry to a "young Trotsky" because they both are fighters with a commanding attitude... and they both have the same glasses. If I torrent a game, I torrent AAA titles, with some exceptions. A lot of the more indie games I play (Amnesia, STALKER, Mount and Blade, Men Of War, The Void) have so much love in them that I'd feel bad if I didn't drop something in the tip jar for the developers.

So basically you are saying that Asians make more due to their culture and values. I agree.

That is actually the opposite of what he was saying. Asian-Americans make more money because the Asian immigrants that come here come from more affluent backgrounds. Not some idealist idea of "culture" and "values. I'm a half-Indian petty bourgeois kid and my lineage goes back to a very wealthy privileged family. It is a far different story for the African-American and Hispanic-American population that come from working class backgrounds. It's incredibly ridiculous to say that values and culture determine economic position rather than the other way around.

I found a mother cat and her kittens in my backyard. I've confirmed at least 3 kittens, and I estimate that they're 4-5 weeks old. I think they are feral. I'm hesitant to get close enough to take pictures, but I've started putting out food for the mom and she's been eating it. Which is good because she looks really skinny like she needs food. Been doing research on exactly what to do with them, apparently if I can socialize the kittens they could be adopted.

You mean ancient astronauts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_astronauts), right?

It's certainly plausible enough for me to use in my fiction. In fact in the setting I'm working on, Earth has been visited by at least two different alien species; the first aliens used Earth as a military base of operations billions of years ago, leaving behind still-functioning super-technological artefacts in the oldest, deepest layers of the Earth's crust (the setting is in the future, where improved mining techniques allow us to prospect deeper than ever before). In fact I wrote a short story-type thing (http://www.revleft.com/vb/group.php?do=discuss&group=&discussionid=4807) on the subject.

The second group of aliens were more recent, and have something to do with human religions, making them ancient astronauts of the more classic mold. I haven't worked out the details, but I definitely know I want to put my own unique spin on the trope.

I have an idea for a novel (actually i have over 9000) that involves a full out invasion of aliens who start assassinating key public figures and destroying government buildings.

They're actually trying to save humanity by attacking aliens who have infiltrated earth and have essentially enslaved humanity to do their bidding

Even if aliens have visited the Earth, whatever traces they left behind are highly likely to have long since eroded away, or if somehow immune to the ravages of time, buried deep by geology. The bottom of the ocean could be littered with artefacts that we've yet to stumble across. Personally I think it's unlikely, but we won't know for sure until we get around to familiarising ourselves with a greater fraction of the Earth's volume.

We've found at least one natural nuclear fission reactor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_nuclear_fission_reactor) - what if we were to find something similar, but which could not be plausibly explained by natural geology?

The best evidence for me lies at the dawn of civilisation, with the Sumerians, who tell of the Annunaki, Gods who created mankind. Sumerian civilisation is a pretty intriguing period, basically mankind went from hunter gatherer to farmers, and built cities with multistorey housing and sewage systems and libraries etc. There was also the 'baghdad battery' and other such advanced technology associated with the Assyrians/ Mesopotamians. I'm very interested in the theory but the sources on the web are either very sceptical and discimissive, or total screwballs talking about the illuminati, new world order and apocalypse 2012 tinfoil hats etc.

People talk about the Egyptian pyramids and Mayan temples, but to me that just seems patronising, besides it has been proven conclusively that the egyptians built the pyramids. And when it gets into Atlantis mythology..

Why would aliens have visited during the tiny slice of Earth's history that we've been around? The Earth has been habitable for hundreds of millions if not billons of years.

The thing is, I think such a view sells ancient civilisations short, and by extension human beings as well. After all, we managed to put a man on the Moon without extraterrestrial assistance, and that's a much more difficult problem to solve than many that our ancestors faced.

People talk about the Egyptian pyramids and Mayan temples, but to me that just seems patronising, besides it has been proven conclusively that the egyptians built the pyramids. And when it gets into Atlantis mythology..

And saying that humans couldn't establish civilisation by themselves isn't patronising? OK, the ancient Sumerians etc may not be around any more to complain, but biologically they were modern humans just like us.

As for Atlantis, I've been trying to think of a plausible mechanism by which large islands and/or subcontinents can rise from and fall back into the sea. One idea I have involved rising pockets of magma that create temporary bulges in the oceanic crust. A smaller version of the kind of mechanism I'm on about can be seen in the island of Ferdinandea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferdinandea). Of course, I don't believe that Atlantis ever actually existed, but the basic idea has a narrative appeal that lends itself well to fiction.

...

Well if you want my crazy ass theory they aren't aliens as such. During the era of the dinosaurs an intelligent form of reptilian life managed to escape the huge meteorite/collision that destroyed the dinosaurs and have been lurking around the galaxy ever since.:D

Their technology allows them to travel at very high speeds and evade most forms of detection however they are in and around the Solar System. They have been intervening in Earth's history- "grooming" the planet until it's ready for their return. The different atmospheric conditions during the Jurassic etc mean that current atmospheric conditions and previous ice-ages etc were not suitable for them on a long term basis. This is why with the advent of global warming they are being "seen" more frequently. They probably don't have a base in space near Earth but may well have a rather large one in one of the abysses under the oceans.

Why would aliens have visited during the tiny slice of Earth's history that we've been around? The Earth has been habitable for hundreds of millions if not billons of years.

Assuming they lack the ability to time travel, then just pure coincidence.. Convenient I know but we are talking about millions of years where there were humanoid species on this planet, it is alleged in these theories that homo sapiens were actually genetically engineered anyway. I assume the alien species are from a solar system surrounding an older star than our own, and had far advanced technology. There is speculation about a 12th planet, 'Nbiru' as well that makes the journey more feasible. Besides it could well be that they were here long before that, assuming they were here in such 'recent; times and have left no evidence of it, the same may go for their previous visits. According to legends of the anunnaki they had another race of slaves called igigi previously, who rebelled against them and humans were created to replace them. I still don't understand given their technology why they would need servants but anyway lets ignore that inconvenience!

The thing is, I think such a view sells ancient civilisations short, and by extension human beings as well. After all, we managed to put a man on the Moon without extraterrestrial assistance, and that's a much more difficult problem to solve than many that our ancestors faced.

Its hard though to imagine what a leap it is to go from hunting animals with spears to herding them into enclosures and looking after them, not to mention then building huge cities, inventing writing and making batteries all in a relatively short period of time. I'm not totally convinced by the arguments of alien civilisation but it is compelling. When you consider the snails pace humanity has moved at ever since (up until the advent of the industrial revolution and invention of the computer which considerably acelerated progress) then its amazing. Thats not to rule it out as a possibility but its worth consideration.

And saying that humans couldn't establish civilisation by themselves isn't patronising? OK, the ancient Sumerians etc may not be around any more to complain, but biologically they were modern humans just like us.

No offence to you lowly humans intended! :p Honestly I don't give much credence to the theory of alien interference, which makes my respect for the ancient Sumerians/ Assyrians etc all the greater, but it is an interesting and imo an important theory to investigate.

I am inclined towards the Minoans as atlanteans, the theory goes that a volcano erupted on Santorini and created a tidal wave that engulfed Crete, effectively destroying Minoan civilisation forever. My cousin got married on Santorini (her husband is Greek) its a beautiful island, I can easily see how it would lead to legends of an island utopia, especially as it was at the time an outpost of the Minoan civilisation, who were the most advanced of their time.

Depends, do the diacritics mean anything to you? ;)

No they were giving me a headache so I just ignored them! :)

Berlitz and Von Danniken eat your hearts out!

I'm intrigued by the Dogon tribes tales of intelligent amphibian creatures, but they were definitely alien, hailing from near sirius b (at least they said they were, although they seemed to emerge from the sea).

Nope... the fact that the "snake brothers" "amphibians" and "reptilians" are described as such and they emerge from the sea all the more goes to prove my theory beyond the shadow of a best-selling conspiracy book! ;)

Until someone can travel or at least demonstrate, in terms of practical engineering and not mere "abstract" theory alone, at speeds which would permit travel to the nearest inhabitable planets and according to physics then I am sticking with my theory. :D

But wait... perhaps you are in with them and that's why you don't want to give any credence to my theory.... onset of conspiracy theory paranoia!

They can be toilet trained apparently, in nature they designate areas they use for peeing and the like.. Some people have adopted weasels and say they were good pets, not much different to ferrets. However stoats are crazy critters by all accounts! I would never consider 'adopting' such an animal unless it was very badly injured, in which case I'd take it to the vet first and if it needed further care I'd volunteer my services. One guy said he found a blind weasel and it was a really sweet well behaved and sociable pet, which is surprising because they're not usually sociable creatures.

What I'd really love in an ideal world would be a pet red squirrel, who I would name Cyril (Cyril the Squirrel, gettit?) which would be even more illegal as they are endangered here.. :crying:

Mom And Dad, I'm Gay And Also Stronger Than Both Of You, So Don't Try Any Shit

By Adam Cuneo

Mom, Dad, there's something we have to talk about. I've been wanting to tell you this for some time, and I want you to know that while I'm fully aware this might be difficult for you to hear, remember, I am still your son, and I love you very much: Mom, Dad, I'm gay, and so help me God, I am stronger than the both of you, and I won't hesitate to beat you back to the Stone Age if you give me any shit about this.
I know this must be tough for you. I understand this isn't how you expected your son to turn out, and I know you might be disappointed, but just remember that I go to the gym seven days a week and can bench-press 275 pounds easy. I take excellent care of my body, so while you can be upset, you better be careful and watch how you handle yourselves here, because if you so much as make a sarcastic remark or do anything to take advantage of how vulnerable I am right now, this will end ugly for the both of you.
Bottom line: I was born this way. It wasn't a choice. It was, however, a choice to develop huge biceps like this, so take a good long look at them before you think of uttering a hurtful or bigoted remark.
Look, I'm not naïve. I know how you feel about homosexuality, because you've been very clear on that subject in the past. That's why it took me so long to tell you. Dad, you've said some very hateful things, not considering for a second that I might be gay, and it hurt. Not nearly as much as it will hurt when I throw you across the room if you ever say any of those shitty things again, but it still stung.
I'm a gay man, and I'm proud of it. I'm also super fast and can lift you both over my head and slam you into the ground, no problem. I've recently incorporated kettlebells into my workout routine, and while I don't expect you to understand the physical impact they've had on my body, I can tell you I've put on at least 15 pounds of sheer muscle since the last time you saw me—certainly enough to take out two homophobic parents in their 60s. Mom, what do you weigh? One hundred fifteen pounds soaking wet? Well, it's going to take a lot more than that to bring me down, I'll tell you that much. I'm 2 percent body fat, have washboard abs, and can do 50 pull-ups in a row easy. Just remember that as we continue this conversation.
You want me to be happy, right? Because I can assure you, you don't want to see me unhappy.
Look, I think both of you have known in your heart of hearts that I was gay. You can deny it all you want, but if you try to do something stupid like convince me that I'm not a homosexual and that this is all somehow in my head, I'll put you in a Jujitsu hold where I can dislocate your shoulder with one little tug. I've been taking mixed martial arts classes at this place in the city, and I'm getting pretty good. I'm actually thinking about competing in a tournament in a few months. The point is, if I can make my opponents submit in less than a minute, imagine what I could do to two arthritic senior citizens. Dad, I love you. I've always craved your approval, but you don't move as fast as you used to. You know it and I know it.
You're probably wondering when this all started. Well, I think I've always known I was different, but in college, when I began to get pretty heavy into weight training and sculpting my hulking physique, I also began experimenting with my sexuality. Does this make you uncomfortable? Well, so will your ribs cracking in half and making it impossible to breathe right for three months, so just sit there and listen, because there's more.
I have been in a relationship with another man for the past two years. You've met him. His name is Tony, and he's not my roommate, he's my boyfriend. We're in love, and if I so much as see a pained expression cross your faces because you're imagining Tony and I together, or because you thought I would marry Jennifer—which was always a completely ridiculous notion—Mom, Dad, I'll literally take you down and start kneeing you in the stomach. I seriously will. Over and over again. Also, Tony is a little stronger than me so I definitely wouldn't mess with him, either.
Tony and I are probably going to get married. Dad? What was that? Were you about to say something? Were you about to open your stupid mouth and say something that could absolutely destroy me emotionally? I didn't think so. That's why I'm going to put you back on the ground now instead of throwing you into the china cabinet. And Mom, stop crying. It's just making me angrier.
Tony and I are going to adopt children. We're going to raise a family. You are going to have grandchildren, and you're going to love them. Dad, you're going to teach them all the things you taught me, and Mom, they're going to call you Grandma, and you are going to be so thrilled to be a major part of their lives that my being gay will be the last thing on your mind.
So come here right now and give me a hug or I'll knock your fucking heads off.http://o.onionstatic.com/img/icons/terminator.gif

Do you believe in love at first sight? I saw this girl the other day andI can't stop thinking about her, we didn't even speak, in fact she hardly even glanced at me (although when she did i detected the faintest smile, or at least I thought -or hoped- i did). Anyway is it mere objectification, or is there more to love at first sight than meets the eye? Pardon the pun..

Everybody Needs A Hobby of the Day: Idaho Falls police have warned 34-year-old William Falkingham to quit wearing his bunny suit in public as it scares children (http://www.kpvi.com/content/news/local/story/Idaho-Falls-Police-Investigate-Man-in-Bunny-Suit/li9tE-AVQkegDSsOT6mRgA.cspx).
According to a police report, multiple complaints have been received concerning Falkingham’s furry penchant, but the final straw came after he was allegedly spotted behind a tree, peeking at a young boy “and pointing his finger like a gun.”
Neighbor Deborah Colson defended Falkingham’s actions, saying (http://old.news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110803/od_nm/us_usa_bunnysuit_odd) “He’s got the bunny outfit, a cowboy suit and a ballerina dress but you don’t see him except where he’s tripping through his backyard.”
“He’s got a strange lifestyle at home but we all do weird things at home,” she added.
A police spokeswoman said Falkingham told officers he “enjoys wearing the suit,” but understands people’s concerns.

On the daily show Austan Gooslbee, on the council of economy advisors, reported he's going back to the Chicago Buisiness School, I bet he is, honestly listening to this guy makes me cringe, I bet his paycheck will be nice. Jon Stewart of coarse throws him soft balls and asks none of the real questions, and instead just tries to be a nice guy.

He kept saying Obama DID focus on manufacturing and so on, by going out and talking to factories, yeah so what, WHAT DID HE DO??? Go on about free trade and other bullshit.

When he talks about the long term defecit, yeah, the debt deal cuts a lot of it, but it also DESTROYS the economy and it also continues the same disasterous policies and makes them worse. He says there was a lot of compromises, oh yeah? What did the republicans give? What did progressives get? His argument is that the tea party was pissed, yeah, because they want 100%, if you give them 90% does'nt mean its a compromise.

This idiot also still thinks that republicans will be happy now that the debt has been cut. He's talking about MORE patent rules, which will limit the economy rather than expand it. He's saying that Obama does'nt get enough credit. I'm sick of Jon sucking up to these establishment hacks, this "economist" would buy a car for double its price and boast that he it cost less than his house.
