I'm new here at RevLeft, so my apologies in advance, if this post doesn't follow protocol.

A friend and I are working on starting a business together and have been having brainstorming sessions on how to build a more socially-just workplace. We are open to considering all ideas and as a noob to the ideas of socialism, I would like to get input into possible solutions to building a successful business that tries to achieve socialist values in a capitalist society. I know this may seem like a contradiction in terms but you have to work from where you are. If anyone can point me to some good resources for this it would be greatly appreciated.

First it I should point out that because this is a forum for those that consider themselves revolutionary that the concept of building a business, 'socially-just' or not, is a bit baffling. If socialism is your desire you must be much more radical.

Possible solutions for a more 'socially-just' workplace could include democratic control of workplace protocol and conditions, extensive profit sharing, and complete disclosure of expenses and incomes.

It is not enough to just work from where you are, you have to move to get real change.
