I am a student, I first got interested in Communism when studying the Soviet Union at high school; I did some research at home and it really appealed to me. I used to be a Stalinist but now I am comfortable with my Trotskyist beliefs :)

I am not a member of any organisation or party, but I may be interested in joining one.

Welcome! I became interested in communism in mostly the same way as you, while learning about the Soviet Union in HS. I had an extremely conservative, anti-communist teacher, with whom I had often conflicted. I refused to believe that communism itself was as bad as he said, and figured that it was just the Soviet Union that was messed up. A year later, I finally figured out that I'm an anarcho-syndicalist. :)
