Hello, users of RevLeft. I'm originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where there are a lot of Democrats, but very few non-mainstream Leftists. The issue of collective bargaining in my state has spurred many Democrats and labor supporters to come out of the woodwork and demonstrate, but almost none of them are willing to try dealing with the root cause of the common man's lesser station in life: greed and capitalism. Despite the fact that approval ratings for members of both mainstream parties in the state are ridiculously low, no one seems to want to support anything but the status quo.
It's seeing the lack of action and progress from this branch of the Left that has allowed me to find myself as an Anarchist/Communist. The current system we have going obviously isn't working, and thus needs to be torn down, whether it be by choice, or force. And as excessive authority over one another has stemmed from capitalism, I believe the only way to remedy the situation is to form a society based around equality, group consensus, and collectivism.
