Anyone watching? I never cared for bicycle racing much, but now that I have a TV in my room, it serves as a nice bit of wallpaper. So now I'm watching a bit more attentively and trying to figure out how it works.
At the moment, there is a national obsession about the heroic Hoogerland, who continues to run after having his legs and ass fucked up by barbed wire due to a careless driver.

was gonna make a thread on this then saw this one.
I fucking love the tour, fuck all the haters.
hoogerland has been immense but he's pretty much out of the king of the mountains now, he was interviewed after todays stage saying he was still going to try and be aggressive, I wonder if he has it in him to get a stage in the alps when he might have healed a bit?
was interesting today to see frank schleck go on the attack more than andy and the talk seems to be which one is stronger. my opinion is that they might be taking it in turns day after day to go on the assault and generally break down the rest that way. I have a feeling that one of them will be in yellow after saturday, at the very least I doubt it will still be Voeckler (but then they said that about today...). out of the other big ones contador looked weak, evans strong and basso surprisingly strong. I'm thinking all will become clear on saturday...

Never liked sports much, but my family-in-law drilled me good these past five years and now I'm a Tour-de-France addict. Today was a hard day, first day up in the mountains.
I don't think Hoogeland's coming back, however a shame it is.

sprint today was standard sprint malarky, unless you break up htc you aint gonna beat them.
yesterday is more interesting to talk about though. to be honest I was a bit disappointed, it seems the schlecks are the only ones who are going to attack and even they don't seem to be going all out, I'm hoping they have something saved up for the alps and will nail everyone there. otherwise it looks like cadel 'i'm a boring prick' evans or even contador will sit on their wheels then nab it in the time trial. another impressive ride by voeckler though, apparently lance armstrong has said he thinks he can win it but in the interview after todays stage he flat out said that was not going to happen, I'd probably have to agree with the voeckler.
