just read this and felt that i should share it. states civilisation, the networks of domination, as the reason behind mental health issues in the UK and digs into the issue of social control and how capitalism is obviously not meeting our emotional, phyiscal and aspirational needs as humans. it's also a largely a personal account, so you can build rapport with what is being suggested.

Rather a long pamphlet but made some very interesting points about things i've been thinking about for awhile, i think the general theme running through it of mental health issues being a 'normal reaction to an abnormal situation' is the correct one. For anyone who hasn't thought much about the topic it's well worth a read.

The biggest criticism i'd have of it is it doesn't provide any way to cope with or alleviate these problems while we're within capitalism, i think it makes it clear that the problem is capitalism but it doesn't provide an alternative. Infact i thought it leaned slightly more towards primitivism than socialism.

Also the personal story was very touching and sad no doubt it's a story that way too many people can relate to :(
