=) I thought so. Just wondered why the section on raising taxes? Should have read more like "Abolish taxes on the rich who create our jobs."

Its SO simple to fix the depression in the US, you have tons of economists with great ideas, but they arn't gonna be implimented (because smart ideas not neccesarily maximize profits for hte super rich in the short term).

The BEST idea I've heard came from the socialist party USA, and Richard Wolff, unemployed, publically funded (or credited) cooperatives, thats just one of many ideas
co-determination would make a HUGE difference,
actual public control of the banks when they get bailouts (rather than juts take our money and good luck),
Bringing back glass stegil, having capital requirements for insurance companies or derivative bets, putting derivatives on the open market (I would just ban them personally), having rating agencies be publically funded, or having the kind of reform Al Franked recomended.
Lets see what else, infastructure spending (not permanent solution but will definately help).
Raise the top rate taxes significantly (encouraging re-investment), and raise capital gains taxes.

There are tons of them, just one or 2 of these would do wonders, but guess what, they won't do it, Obama is a republican, he's gonna cut taxes and social security, leave the markets de-regulated, not support labor, and basically do every bad idea the republicans have.

Overthrow the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie. Nationalize all production, distribution and services and institute a planned economy for the construction of socialism.

Until that happens, our one and only goal in regards to economy(if we are revolutionaries) should be to exacerbate the economic recession as much as possible. To call for the healing of a market economy is counter-revolutionary because it necessarily demands the culling of the proletariat. The masses will never be on the move if they are sheltered, fed, and employed. The US government could nuke Sweden off the face of the planet for no reason at all and if the American people were comfortable, the majority wouldn't lift a finger.

Everything listed by RGacky3 above seem to be good steps in economic warfare, but as he notes at the end, they won't be happening.

Those were all things I listed that governments COULD do if they actually wanted to fix the economy.

What the people need to do primarily is organize, agitate, join unions, strike, and so on.

That sounds like you're trying to manipulate 'em....

If I became president right now, I would default on US debts and watch Beijing burn, but that's just me.
