No matter how reactionary it may seem, I believe in cases like these, the death penalty is completely justified.

Even if this murderer was to outlive his sentence and was released from prison, society will always look at him as a murderer of twenty-fucking-seven people. Prison isn't helping him. He should have the death penalty. It's the least they could do for him.

Even in cases like this i still not only oppose the death penalty, i also think if any of them changes his/her political views and shows actual remorse for what they did they should be let out. Just because you want to see someone dead does not justify giving the state the authority to execute him. The death penalty is state-sanctioned murder, and as someone who opposes the state, it is only coherent to oppose the state when it wants to kill people because they broke the social contract.

That said, under the current setup I'm opposed to prisons as well, so it's out back of the barn in my book.
