I think that the our current time system has deffinite problems with it. I imagine that you would all agree that the metric sytem should be Global right. Well why not come up with a new time keeping system too. I propose a ten based time system rater than the current twelve. The current system athough workable causes more confusion than nessicary. We should break the day into two or posibly three groups of 10 time blocks. Each time block would be made up of 100 intervals. When communism is in effect the working day will be completley different anyway.

I checked out that thread. At least some other people are on the right track. I just sat there and came up with a system of my own. It works on a ten based system, where we break the 24 hour day into three parts.
It works something like this.
1 kilonate = 1 year
1 kilontae = 10 hectonate
1 hectonate = 36-37 trinates
1 trinate = 3 nates
1 nate = 10 decinates
1 decinate = 10 centinates
1 centinate = 10 milinates
Where as
1 trinate is a day
1 nate = 8 hours
1 decinate = 48 mins
1 centinate = 28.8 sec

Having thought about this a bit more I can see some rather obvious things that would be why the calendar hasn't been reformed.
Natural cycles are a major part of the calendar. The year is divided into 12 parts which can also be divided into 2, 3, 4, and 6 parts. If we have a 10 month system, there would be difficulty for farmers and the like. While the 28, 30, 31 number of days is silly that would be easily fixed while keeping the 12 months.
As for time, 24 divides evenly a number of times as well. 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 12. This means dividing the day is easy and simple. With minutes and seconds I still feel that having 60 of them is silly but my calculations show that if we keep 24 hours and have 100 minutes in an hour and 100 seconds in a minute the second would be too fast to count. 240000 seconds in a day rather then 86400.

Maybe we should have 24 months in a year? Then we can still divide the year into the four seasons etc.
Another thing, the week still is a major pain in the arse!
I think that a week of 4 days would be good. 3 working days then a rest. Convinently grouped in a fortnight (two weeks) it would be quite nice.
Or how about a week of 10 days, with 3 days rest. Maybe spreading them over the week.
If someone wants to celebrate something on a particular day, they can ask to have that day off. (Anything, religious or otherwise).
