Can someone point me to a brief history of Rosa Luxemburg, and an overview of Luxemburgism and maybe a couple of Rosa's own political writings which show her general political positions?

Tony Cliff presents a good overview of Luxemburg in his book here (http://www.marxists.org/archive/cliff/works/1959/rosalux/index.htm).

her own work is well represented on the web, here (http://www.marxists.org/archive/luxemburg/index.htm).

I'd recommend her work on The Mass Strike (1906), The Accumulation of Capital (1913), plus her various reflections of the Russian revolution of 1917.

Check out Paul Frolich's excellent biography. It takes you through an overview of her life, explains her political positions on certain events, includes sections of her own writings and looks to explain a substantial part of her ideology.

It might help to join the Luxemburgist group here. It includes both the International Luxemburgist Network, and Left Communists who acknowldge Rosa as one of the foremost socialists of her generation - way ahead of Lenin or Trotsky on various questions such as the national question - as well as others who probably would see themselves as neither Luxemburgists nor Left-Comms.

I only stopped referring to myself as a Luxemburgist about 2 weeks ago - not becauser I changed my views, because I'm still 100% Luxemburgist on the national question, and also the causes of capitalism's crises, but because Left Communism has succeeded I think in combining Luxemburg's particular insights with the best analyses of the other socialist/communist theoreticians of the early 20th century (and indeed developing them).

The Mass Strike is absolutely essential reading I'd say. The Accumulation of Capital and The Junius Pamphlet are also hugely important.

If you can speak Spanish, there's this group (that may be connected to the ILN) - http://luxemburguistas.wordpress.com/
