In the United States in the 1930s, there was a children's group of the Socialist Party called the Red Falcons. My understanding of it was that it was kind of like a socialist version of the Scouts (something which we could use today for leftist parents, I think!) I don't know if there were other Red Falcon groups in countries beside the US or Germany, but it's possible that there were.

Red Falcons were/are a competitor with both the Boy/Girl Scouts and the Young Pioneers. Apparently, they are still going strong.

think i meant captain scarlet, somehow i though he had an falcon or hawk like symbol but i think i have been melting different mental images into one.
