There seems to be a slew of contemporary communist American political parties and organizations. I'd like this thread to be a discussion of these parties and organizations.
First hand experiences and observations are what I'd like most, but anything trustworthy is good too, though I'd prefer to focus on their practices and pros/cons.
I myself would like to hear stuff about the CPUSA, SPUSA, IWW, NEFAC, Anarchist Black Cross, and Crimethinc, though if anyone else has particular organizations/parties they are interested in, please post them.

This thread is inevitably bound for a flame fest.
In order to avoid this, why don't you check out the Groups pages (under the Community tab), then click Organizations. Most have a group of some sort and you can ask questions there.

CPUSA
Openly support the democrats and social democracy.
SPUSA
Was in the "Direct Action Tendency", kind of a left-communist/anarchist tendency in the party. Our tendency got shut down un-democraticaly by the secretary. We were falsely accused of attempting a "reverse trotskyist entryist maneuver". Recently another revolutionary tendency was formed in the party, the "Revolutionary Unity Group", they are voluntarily disbanding because they feel their tendency is being treated in an undemocratic manner.
NEFAC
Is kind of stagnant, as far as recruitment. Their Baltimore collective left me and a friend stranded in Washington DC after they were supposed to take us home, when we called and asked them to come back to the metro station, they told us they couldn't...cause they were all drunk. They also had a number of members drinking while on the actual demo.
Crimethinc
Not so much of an organization as a umbrella group for organizing meetings (which have been targetted by FBI informants) and publishing texts, some of which can be good, some not so much. I do reccomend their magazine "Rolling Thunder" it usually has some articles on history, current struggles, some theory, and some cute shit, like cartoons, songs, recipes and stuff.
