The Copa America competition has recently kicked off with nearly every team match-up ending in a tie, except for Colombia's 1-0 victory against Costa Rica. Both Argentina and Brazil surprisingly failed to impress with this weak start.
Who are your picks for the finals? Discuss!

Chile played an impressive game against Mexico yesterday, winning 2-1. I believe they are the favorites for the whole tournament. Tomorrow afternoon, Colombia & Argentina square off. It has the potential to be a very good and very important match-up.

I was rooting for Mexico that game, disappointed but they still have a shot. I haven't followed the other games much but I plan on watching tomorrows game. Looks like its gonna be an interesting cup.

Great game! Argentina had to fight tooth and nail just to tie, while Colombia's swarming defense and aggressive offense had them looking like the winners. They missed a few good opportunities to score, but all the same they look like the team most likely to advance strongest from the group. Tomorrow is Bolivia-Costa Rica!

Anyone else follow the most recent games? Venezuela upset Ecuador to take the lead in the group, with Brazil failing to impress in getting yet another tie. Surprise after surprise in this tournament, it's going to get real competitive as teams hang on for dear life to make it to the next round.
Argentina and Brazil look like they're in danger of not making it too far, which is incredible as they are the strongest teams traditionally, and were the favorites to win! And Argentina is hosting! Poor guys.

Colombia beat Bolivia 2-0, now having 7 points as the best emerging from the group and the tournament in general. Argentina beat Costa Rica 3-0 after a series of false starts. This secures them to go to the next round, I think.

Yes, Argentina are through to the qrts. I watched the first half and thought Costa Rica should've used Joel Campbell's pace and trickery more. They didn't do much on the counter at all.
I wonder if Mexico can pull off a result over Uruguay. They are right there to be a qualifying third place team, but should try and get a draw to qualify ahead of Uruguay.

Didn't Mexico already make it impossible for them to advance? I don't think they can get enough points...no?

Yeah, Mexico actually needed a win last night. I don't know what I was thinking when I said they only needed a draw. They lost so I guess it doesnt matter anyways.
Interested to see if Brazil can win against Ecuador tonight. After being so disappointing, they really need a win for momentum going forward.

Brazil played an impressive game against Ecuador, winning 4-2! The remaining match-ups for the quarter-finals are Colombia-Peru, Argentina-Uruguay, and on the other side of the bracket, Brazil-Paraguay and Chile-Venezuela.

Colombia beaten by Peru, Chile beaten by Venezuela, Argentina beaten by Uruguay, and Brazil beaten by Paraguay....all pretty big upsets!
Followed by Uruguay beating Peru and Paraguay beating Venezuela to advance to the finals!

I'd personally like to see Paraguay win it for the first time in 32 years but, then again Uruguay are playing some outstanding football lately and it would also be nice to see them set the record for the most wins.

Anyone catch the final? Uruguay scored some impressive goals in a fun game against Paraguay. They have some real good players, who work together well as a team (which is the hard part most teams miss out on.)
