Can anyone here provide some information and/or links about authentic Hawaiian beliefs please.

Recently I have seen a lot of self-help type books about Ho'oponopono and Huna too.

Info?

Thanks... I was just wondering if there were any Hawaiians here who could tell it straight...

Aloha kāua! I'm not a Hawai‘ian (I'm a Jew :P) but my aunt has married into a Hawai‘ian family, and her husband sort of practices the old ways. I've read and talked with him a lot about these things (although I'm more interested in folk tales, myself). Here are few books:
Hawaiian Folktales - Thomas G. Thrum (look it up on Project Gutenberg)
Life in Early Hawaii: The Ahupua‘a - Kamehameha Schools (go to ulukau(dot)com and search it from there)
Hawaiian Mythology by Martha Beckwith (look it up on Ulukau)
The Kumulipo: A Hawaiian Creation Chant - Martha Beckwith (look it up on Ulukau)

These I couldn't find for free online, you'll have to buy them:
Ka Po‘e Kahiko: The People of Old - Samuel Kamakau (look it up on Amazon)
Recovering Ancient Magic - Max Long (Amazon)

EDIT: Goddammit, I formatted this post beautifully with links to the resources, but my post count isn't high enough, I told you where to search, lemme know if you have any trouble finding the resources.
