I've been going to a Baptist church for my entire life, and I've noticed they are not very nice people. For all their talk about going to convert the masses, they do not understand the "hate the sin, not the sinner." I don't know if it's just Baptists, but I wonder how they expect to spread the good news if they believe they have the power to condemn sinners.

From what I've experienced of 'Baptists' online I'd agree with you. A Nasty bunch. It's good to remember that reactionaries always pervert doctrines to their own political needs. You cannot reform these people. It's best for your sanity to avoid them. imho

Ask them why Jesus then forgave the people who persecuted him, saved a convicted woman (adultress) from being stoned and forbade judging others.
It usually shuts them up.

I doubt that would cause them to stutter. Most likely they would spin it to some way that makes them feel good. I've seen people spin the story of David and Saul.
