Libyan rebels rejected an AfricanUnion peace plan (07-04-2011)

Libyan rebels have rejected an African Union peace plan to end the country's conflict. They insisted that any settlement should be based on the immediate resignation of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
The AU proposals include enforcing an arms embargo inside Libya till the end of the transitional period and implementing necessary reforms to meet the legitimate demands of the Libyan people, including organizing elections under international monitoring.

Let me give few questions...
Why are they not accepting ? Don't they want peace and stop bloodshed ? Civilians are suffering...

If you want to take down a dictator, and it looks like you can win, you should never accept a peace plan. It gives the dictator legitimacy, credibiltity and most of all, peace plans don't do anything usually. Plus, why would the Libyan rebels want peace when in their mind they can have freedom and social justice? Negotiations are good on issues that are of little importance to the overall vision of the group, but this obviously is something that would have a huge effect on the future of Libya that both parties shouldn't be willing to compramise, the fact that one has indicates their bargaining power.

To what sizable or otherwise significant Libyan opposition support base in Revleft are you referring? During my short stay here (just under a month), I have not even seen any actual evidence of explicit support for the rebels by any revleft poster.

Libyan rebels are not interested in freedom, social justice or peace. The rebels and Gaddafi are just different shades of shit.

Actually, while I'm not a rebel apologist I'd still like to chime in. Why would the rebels accept this peace plan? It's vague and doesn't give them the political power they decide.
