Hey, I plan on moving to NYC in the next few months and was wondering if there's any good recommendations for organizations I could get in contact with and be a part of. I'm on the libertarian Marxist side of things, anything that's left marxist or anarchist would be something I would be interested in getting involved with. I'm just trying to touch base before I go there, so I know who to meet up with ASAP.
On an unrelated note, I need a roommate.
Thanks.

Insurgent Notes, Internationalist Perspective. There may even be branches of the ICC or the ICT, but I'm not sure. Most leftcoms in NYC I know tend to be unaffiliated, often group around reading Theorie Communiste, Endnotes, Aufheben, etc. NYC is perhaps the most the vibrant in terms of a left communist movement in North America.

What is the ITC?

It's the International Communist Tendency, a Bordigist organisation. If you message Stagger Lee, who is a member, he can tell you more about it.

The ICT is not a Bordigist organization, and there is nobody in New York that I am aware of. I don't think it would be too hard to find other libcoms in NYC though. I heard Insurgent Notes is becoming a group now.

the ABC no rio collective was an easy entrance for me to get in to the local anarchist movement when on holidays there: http://www.abcnorio.org/

You should definitely check out the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Lots of different Marxist viewpoints within the organization, and the very active NYC branch (http://www.pslweb.org/liberationnews/branches/nyc/) has many great comrades. Why not contact them and see what you think? Good luck! :thumbup1:
