View Full Version : Anyone on here ever visited the Politics section of Yahoo!Answers?

I cannot stand the place, personally. So much misinformation and ignorance permeating that site (not to say we have our fair share of that here as well, but instead of leftists you have reactionaries of every possible stripe); it's frustrating. I was actually posting there before I discovered Revleft. :blushing:

So, anybody else ever been there? If not, take some time to check it out. It would be laughable, if it weren't so sad.

I used to lurk the Yahoo Politics chatrooms and I saw basically the same thing. It was fucking horrible. And all the overt, blatant racism, I mean, the place was a cesspool.

It's awful! I don't know how I stuck around there for so long. Eventually I just gave up and began searching for leftist forums, and happened to find Revleft.

I used to put the stupidest questions up.

Examples:

Why wont liberals give me a tax break if I donate my money to the upper-class?

When will radical right-wing neo-communists start working at soup kitchens to help feed the starving CEOs of the US?

What is NOBAMA doing to prevent Tanzania from eating all of our delicious Florida oranges?

Is Obama a human? Didn't he say that he was born on Mars?

Was Jesus Christ an illegal immigrant?

When will Sarah Palin admit she had an affair with some guy she met at Ale House?

Did anyone win the toilet seat in the House?

Should straight couples be allowed to adopt?

How quick would Lenin win in a war against Reagan and Obama together?

Sorry for the bold type. I cannot figure out how to make it not bold.

I estimate that the population of internet basement dwellers are 90% self styled Libertarians (The Right Wing kind).

Rendering most open website political discussion virtually impossible.

Plus the modus operandi of the Reactionary is always Anger. You can't have a discussion without the reactionary insulting you or using expletives.

There exists a "Remove Text Formatting" button at the top-left corner of the toolbar in the reply dialog. As far as I know, it removes even the most stubborn formatting (often from external websites or locally-installed applications).

I find the religion section to be much more entertaining. Especially if you ask how to summon some sort of demon. The answers you get are mostly Christians telling you not to do it, and Christian teenage girls telling you some way they heard about, but advising you against doing it.

I forgot about the Religion section! Both those sections are like virtual minefields, except instead of death-causing explosions you're stuck with bursts of ignorant rants and lectures...and survival.

So, I went back over there (I still have my old account) and found these questions/posts:

Has the IQ in this section taken a steep drop recently?

Why are minorities so ungrateful against White America?

Will more corporate tax cuts and breaks help create jobs?

Has government assistance programs disrupted natural selection?

What in the world makes cons think that liberals don't celebrate / care about independence day?

Why do people hate Nancy Grace?

Oh, and my personal favorite:

What is the difference between socialists and nazis?

Oh dear...
