wonderful speech from Hu, but words are empty without work. Hopefully the China will solve these problems of corruption and look more on the people, it's no longer can be called a ''peoples republic'' after so many violent attacks and poverty.

China formed an authoritarian capitalist system, thus leading it far away form socialism.

It wont be a surprise if it will become imperialistic, which we can also notice today in the world market and with growing power.

That won't take very long, their natural resources are depleting at an incredible speed.

It is an imperialistic country, you only need to look to Africa and parts of South East Asia to see China's imperialistic endeavours.

Millions of Chinese died because of Mao's "Anti Revisionist crusade"? Yeah okay...

China today is ultra-corrupt, and I can't see it being solved anytime soon.

But corruption is not the intrinsic problem. The intrinsic problem is that the entire structure of the economy is based on neoliberal capitalism rather than a planned economy.

Expanding on what Iseul said, like with all capitalist regimes the problem is not corruption. The problem is capitalism. In America we didn't see the credit crunch because of greedy bankers or because of irresponsible Wall St. managers. We saw it because the capitalist class was free to do as they pleased. As a result of this freedom to throughly exploit, and to have large safety nets set up for protection, and the destruction of the demand element by neoliberalism we saw the credit crunch. China will have similar problems, not because the CCP is corrupt (though it may be) but because China is capitalist.

Actually it's not completely black-and-white like that. Corruption obviously is a problem, it's just not the fundamental or intrinsic problem.

These things should be considered more dialectically. Things cannot be mechanically reduced to class and "socialism vs. capitalism" in an absolutist and simplistic sense.

It's like although one might argue class society is ultimately responsible for sexism and queerphobia, it doesn't imply that sexism and queerphobia aren't problems in themselves right now.
