This was a series of "educational" videos they used to show when I was little. Shocked to watch now.

For those who don't get it, picture it in German and "Lebensraum" rather than "elbow room"
And I'm getting into it with a reactionary on this actual video.

UGH, I give up. Could a mod please imbed the video?

I can't seem to find the correct embed code.
You need the part:
/watch?v=___________/

I can't post links yet, so if you want to see the video, just get on youtube and search for "schoolhouse rock elbow room"
It is truly a disturbing propaganda piece about manifest destiny and so forth. The parallels between the Nazi concept of "living room" and the concept of elbow room expressed in this film which was expressly produced for schoolchildren should not be ignored.

Thanks. I know some sites the link is automatically made to imbed and others you put everything after the "v=" inside the tags.

Wow, I've seen Schoolhouse Rock before (usually absurdly reactionary) but not this one. Genocide apologism that rhymes...how cute.
"Everybody needs some elbow-room...that's how it was in the early days of the USA"
Oh, so that's why they kept importing African slaves until 1808. Idiot.
"There were plenty of fights, for land rights, but the West was meant to be..."
Maybe that's because there were people already living there who were elbowed off, you shitkicking can't-hold-a-note douche.
Anyway, awesome job in the comments section.

"Manifest Destiny" was a pretty odious concept, too.

Wow. watching that as an adult is a bit shocking. They whitewashed manifest destiny and the inevitable genocide that followed with a family-friendly little ditty that you can sing along with. America clearly has the best propaganda in the world!

Aside from their grammar stuff most of the Schoolhouse Rock videos are pretty pro-America and shit.
I never noticed the glorification of religion in it either.
