just saw the video about the machine tool.
For some reason just looking at how this machine work make me happy.
i always expected machine tool to be extremely complex to build.

Here is a link to a DIY Drill press
http://www.btinternet.com/~two.mm/articles/fonly/fonlydr.htm (http://www.btinternet.com/%7Etwo.mm/articles/fonly/fonlydr.htm)
If any one is interested in making some serious workshop tool I refer you books by Dave Gingery.
I have a improvised lathe in my home it is powered by a power drill
You can also use your drill press for small scale turning operation, but I prefer power drill powered lathe, a friend of mine uses a discarded washing machine motor for his lathe, but I have never seen him turning any metal in it, he only does wood working. In third word countries like Pakistan the tribesman of Dehra uses foot powered lathe bcoz they have no electricity. I think the whole idea of making improvised lathe can lead to pretty unconventional machines.
Anyone has any cool idea please share

I know you can build a lathe from a drill, but the one i want to make for myself will use a stronger motor, preferably an old refregirator or washing machine motor.
it will take me some time to build it tho, i dont have the intention of spending much money on this, not that i cant, i got some cash, but i dont want to spend it on the lathe.

This is not a link to any specific machine schematics but it is a good resource for schematics in general: freeinfosociety. (http://www.freeinfosociety.com/)

Lol! It's open source. Nobody owns it. It's not like anyone on here is going to start a capitalist buisness with it anyway.

I have recently been hearing a lot about homemade CNC machines !
Does any one here have any idea or tips on how to build them?

I am a worker, therefore, i dont see any problem into owning a mean of production.
