A post-apocalyptic zombie society would necessarily entail a system of class stratification. Zombies need to eat human flesh. Therefore, for the continued existence of zombies to be possible, the human population would have to be maintained above a certain level. Kind of like how in capitalism, the existence of the working class must be sustained in order for the capitalists to survive. The difference being that flesh, rather than labour, is what the zombies are after. Zombies would become the new ruling class. They would tell us (via a series of groans) that anyone has the opportunity to become a zombie, but by definition only a minority could. And we'd all be sitting here discussing the best way to overthrow them, after a hard day of letting them eat our toes.

The reports of zombie-on-mortal crimes and zombie crimes in general have been largely exaggerated if not entirely made up. Further, if the zombies had a reliable access to flesh, there would be no need to feed on the living thus, the root issues seem to be here, the even and fair distribution of flesh to the zombified communities and the right to migrate as the community sees fit (like travelers and gypsies) provided no mortals are harmed. There is no reason why the zombified community should be oppressed or sectioned off and exterminated.

If they were given the rights they deserved you would probably see a sharp decrease in zombie-on-mortal crime. Further, the zombie community could be useful in doing jobs that would be hazardous if not fatal to mortal, living workers. Their utility to humanity and the revolution must not be silenced or put into question.
