Living in the western world means you are constantly surround by products and commodities. Most of these you can find by turning over almost anything plastic are made in China. There was a Classical economist(I think it was Friedman) who made the criticism that Marx was incorrect because he based all his theory around that everything was produced simply for the capitalist by saying that if you go into any persons home you will find many products made by capitalists or their associating bodies. Of course this was correct but only because he made his criticism around a hundred years after Marx wrote Das Kapital. This of course leads into why is he correct and was Marx wrong. I argue that Marx was right but capitalism has evolved into the exportation of exploitation. Of course some people might scream that this is obvious but here's how I break down what this is and why this happened.

Historically we start in the mid 1300's with the black death. During this period feudalism was still ongoing but then the black death struck and changed the workers situation for ever. It caused some many deaths that now workers became in demand thus granting workers more rights and money giving them access to things like education. Moving forward into the renaissance we see more people becoming educated and more people philosophizing about the liberty. Then moving to the industrial revolution we have the same level of exploitation of the workers happening but now people are starting to critique and stand against the system. Marx then lays out his critique of capitalism and it accurately depicts, in great detail the flaws and travesties of the economic model of the time period. Much of his work is still very valuable and applicable to today. The problem lies in that once we reach the 1900's something drastic happens.

Workers start to become smarter, more educated, and willing to fight. This causes a riffle in the bourgeoisie and causes a new period of capitalism. All through history the one thing that kept people on top was power and knowledge. But know that the masses had knowledge they knew how to get power. The bourgeoisie then needed a way to both satisfy the masses and keep up their exploitative position that fed their greed. So similar to the way the Roman upper class dealt with their mobocracy problem they simply exported their exploitation to somewhere with people who had little knowledge and even less power. This resulted in a new state of affairs with major corporations outsourcing and pacifying. Those who are being exploited can't speak up or rise up and those who can simply don't care. The exportation of exploitation has created a perfect but yet unsustainable world for the bourgeoisie. One where the educated man serves big business and the government presents bailouts to multinational corporations on the backs of working people. The ultimate problem of this system is the impending future people don't foresee. Oil, the blood of the world is soon going to be scarce and then gone. This means not only a lack of products, but food as well. The gap between the rich and the poor in the west is getting wider and wider. If the workers don't wake up now and put away the differences of race, sexuality, religion, language, and nationality then we will all be under the fist the bourgeoisie. No gods, no masters, and no capitalists, workers of the world unite.

i like what you wrote there and i totally agree with you. i think whats holding back progressive change is a lack of concience for all the problems the system has brought to us and the selfish glorification of financial success.
not to mention the fear of being a social outcast or having bad life conditions as a result of being unconform to the ideals of a capitalist society.
