Helsinki got a new squat in the Kallio area just next to the Sörnäinen metrostation.

The building is located at the Franzeninkatu 13 and it is an old university faculty building which the university has been trying to sell for over 10 years.

We squatted the building on Friday and have held several workshops and lectures regarding the stuff that is going on in Spain and in other countries.

We talked to the police and they said that they will be back on Monday. The university itself is following the situation and at the moment it is "calm".

The building was built in 1933 and it is quite old and beautiful so we created a ban on tagging and graffiti spraying.

Here are some pictures from the press..

Looks really nice. Its good to target universities, they often have enormous amounts of unused and/or wasted space+you might have a problem with housing for students in Helsinki? anyways, Good luck!
